Lots of fun
For some reason on this beautiful day, blue skies and 83, there was hardly anyone else playing.
Love this course
Play here every time we are on vacation. Beautiful course and some great holes. Staff is very nice. Can't wait til next year
Woods Valley
The course has improved quite a bit since the last time I played it several months ago. The fairways are still coming back to shape, but not bad to play from. The greens were in good shape considering they had only recently been punched. Much improved conditions. Will definitely be back to play again soon.
First time
My first time playing here was good, but not 5-star and that's no fault to the course. I teed off at 7:30am on a misty morning so the course was extremely wet! The greens were nice and rolled nicely and lucky for me I only had to deal with one hole that was punched. I believe when I play here later on in the day or even year it will be much nicer than it already is.
I won't return until the courses freshly punched fairways etc.. are grown out, but I look forward to it.
muddy mess
teed off early as single. paired up with another single on 1st tee. course was very damp and muddy and there had been no rain recently. according to my playing partner who was a course regular this is the norm. greens had been punched 2 weeks earlier and were still in rough shape. by the back 9 we were just scoring a 2 putt on every green and picking up. had not been to course in more than a year and will not be back any time soon. staff was nice and professional and course is reasonably priced.
woods vally
The course is in good shape but the greens were just punched
Woods Valley
Course was a great value for the price. Greens were in great shape and the course was a fun tract to play!
far drive
Best course we have played on this vacation. don't let the course length fool you, these holes are long. $25-$35 is a great value, new carts included.
GREAT FEATURES
GREAT COURSE,BUT WE BOOKED WITH GOLFNOW AND THEY FAILED TO TELL US THE GREENS WERE PUNCHED!SO IT COST MORE TO BOOK WITH THEM,THEN AT THE COURSE!
great track, back nine is the best
Lots of maintenence has done to restore this course. Tribe purchased the course and already you can see a difference. Keep the prices reasonable and golfers will return. Lacks a good food selection (no sandwiches in pro shop nor the cart girl).
gredat course
Tee boxes, fairways, greens were all in great condition. bunkers ranging from mild to seriously?
Great layout to the course, very scenic, with "wish you were here" postcard settings.
Ball and club washer, cooler on the cart.
Give it a week
Played just after aeration, little sandy, but played 18 in 2 1/4 hours teeing off at 10:00 Obviously the greens were sandy and slow, but they rolled well and will be excellent in about a week or so.
Great course
Even though the greens were being punched, it was a wonderful experience
Disappointed with the experience
I had a chance to get out and play so I went on Golf Now and found a tee time that met my needs at this course. I arrived at the course, paid at the club house and was told I could go ahead and tee off. A group of very nice ladies let me play through on the second hole and on the eighth hole came up on a foursome on the tee and a single who asked if I wished to join him. I did and on the ninth tee he commented on to back nine being closed and that we would have to play the front nine again. I was a bit shocked as nothing had been mentioned to me about this when I checked in.
At the turn I went to the clubhouse and was advised that yes the back nine was closed. I was asked how I made my time and I told them on Golf Now. I was then told that this situation was supposed to be noted on the site and that they were going to call and make sure that the situation was noted. As I returned to the first tee I noted that even after the time I had spent at the clubhouse there were 2 groups on the hole and at least 1 foursome on the tee in front of us. At that point I advised my playing partner that I would not be continuing. When I got home I went back on the Golf Now site I saw the Aerification warning which I had noted when I made my initial time but nothing about the back nine being closed.
As I noted the staff was friendly however I found the failure to have a sign at the desk noting this course condition and not advising me when I paid was a great failing on the part of the course. They told me when I went back in that I could play all I wanted for the fee however I have had experience with shotgun starts after frost delays and know the delays experienced sorting groups in on the first tee.
I have noted over the last year that more and more courses tend to treat Golf Now customers as second class citizens. I use the service as I never know from one day to the next what my schedule is and the site allows me to see several course times at once rather than checking multiple sites.
I have played this course almost since it opened and I do see that the new ownership has had a positive affect on the conditions, but, while the price I paid was a good deal for 18 holes it was not so good for nine.
This course is fair for any ability
A real hidden gem as cost and playability are a factor
Great Course
I will play this course again and again. Green fees great. Food cart girl looking excellent and very nice
Dr ego
Great deal. Very tough from black tees!! Flat greens in good shape. Nice oak trees
What happened
The conditions at woods valley have gone downhill. I've played this course more than a dozen times in the last two years and won't go back. While the greens were ok the fairways were full of weeds and patches of grass. I've heard there was new ownership that was going to improve the course but this is not happening. Stay away.
Slow Play
Had an 11:18 start time and we arrived at 10:30 to hit a warm up bucket. We were informed that they were running 20 minutes behind, I figured that it was probably because of slow play with it being a holiday. Then I saw the starter working in a couple of walk on groups with one starting on hole 3 and the other on 5 which I thought was pretty strange. We finally were able to tee off 30 minutes past our tee time. On every shot we had at least a 10 minute wait and throughout the round there was often two groups waiting at the tee box. The round ended up taking 5 hours and 20 minutes, add in the thirty minute delay and it was almost a 6 hour round. It is obvious that the staff overbooks on the weekends and holidays and have no concern for speed of play. I would recommend only playing here during the week.
For the price and the condition of the course it is a great value.
Woods Valley Delema
Several Holes for the White Tee Senior are fraught with pit falls, #10 in particular. If you fade to the right there is trouble, if you draw down the center you can reach the water left, and if you play a fade to the left it might not make it over the water left.
Straight down the middle is the best bet if you can carry over the hazards down the middle.
