Woods Valley Delema
Several Holes for the White Tee Senior are fraught with pit falls, #10 in particular. If you fade to the right there is trouble, if you draw down the center you can reach the water left, and if you play a fade to the left it might not make it over the water left.
Straight down the middle is the best bet if you can carry over the hazards down the middle.
⛳️ great value. Play it
Fairways dry but fair. Hit ball straight and you will score shot 76 with numberous chance for additional birdies isn't that always the case. My buddies weren't as fortunate with their drives and their scores reflect their scrambling. Love the layout, this was the second time playing since it's opening. Course is quite a drive for me since I live in San Diego but well worth it for the price. Get a range finder or GPS app which helps hunting down those pins.
price was right
I got penalized a bunch of times for hitting some really good golf shots.
great place to play
i got a great deal on golfnow and I wasn't expecting the course to be as nice and in great condition. very good value for your dollar.
Improvements have been made.
The new owners have made improvements, course is in decient shape even with the dry weather conditions in southern California.
Rainy day round
I was a little disappointed about the weather since I booked the course a week in advance, but the storm front decided to hold off till I was trying to play.
It turned out to be an alright day in the end though. It didn't rain too much and the course didn't get too soggy.
There were a few challenges, hazards and wildlife preserve O/B's during the round but overall it was fairly flat and open.
I enjoyed the round and would go back again.
great value for the money
A little out of the way but worth the drive. Nice layout and friendly People
Great value
There are better maintained courses, but not for the money.
Great Replay
Had a great time with my first game I had to do a replay. The staff is so helpful and awesome customer service. Lost my range finder case but Im sure they will give it to me next time I come in if they ever find it. Everyone was friendly!
This course was nice enough for the money, but tee boxes were beat up and wet.
I liked the course well enough, but it could use some maintenance. The fairways were spotty, and the tee boxes were very wet, and beat up. The greens however, were in great shape, and the pace of play was nice. Overall worth the money.
good place to play
Nice golf course Great staff pace of play is good. Greens are good .
A great way to spend a Saturday...
Fairways were a bit brown (Maybe due to dormant grass) on the front and much better on the back. Greens were in very good shape and rolled very true. Putting was actually fun! Front nine played a bit shorter because your ball tends to roll after your drive. The back nine is in great shape and a good test of anyone's game. I was very lucky because I had a great 4some, a pretty quick round (only waiting on the 10 Tee because the group ahead stopped to grab a bite at the turn) and shot a good score. There isn't a more beautiful scene than hitting a solid drive between the trees on 13 and watching your ball settle in the middle of the fairway! For the average golfer it doesn't get any better than that!
The course is challenging from tee to green and course is well maintained especially the greens. .
First time I played this course so I found it to be challenging but fun. The greens are fast and undulation could have you 3 putting if you don't focus. I found the back nine to be a bit more difficult than the front nine. The course has some water hazards, a few holes are narrow, and some holes you have to watch out for the trees. There are many facets to the course which I appreciate. The par 3 holes either have water hazards, or bushes from what I can remember so no room for error. I will play this course a few more times.
The greens were in good shape!
I'm very happy with the value of this course but there need to be some changes in the near future if they want to be considered anything more than an average course. First of all, a club house would be great along with a restaurant...a snack bar at least. The coolers with assorted beverages and pre-made 1/2 sandwiches just don't cut it. This is my second time here and they have worked on it each time (aerating the fairways or the tee boxes) but that's fine because at least I know they are taking care of it. However, those of us that play this course need to do a better job of repairing our divots on the greens. The practice green was so much better than the greens on the course and they should be somewhat similar. Otherwise, perfect weather...great day!
Back 9 very private and picturesque.
Golf course has been recently aquired by new owners who have stated that the course and facilities will be upgraded. Looking
forward.
Good value
Played here on a Monday afternoon. Some of the fairways and tees need a little work but the greens were well maintained. We did not see a soul the whole time we were there. Takes some of the pressure of someone waiting behind you.
Its ok
The course is on the dry side and that takes away from the potential beauty. The design is ok with some tight holes with hazards all the way down the hole. The greens need a little work and were soft from water as compared to the dry fairways. The back nine is toguher than the front. This course was 35 minutes away for us and we won't return to play but glad we experienced it once.
this course is very challenging
I have been playing there since the opening of this course and I really enjoy it,and will play it again and again.
I really like this course
Woods Valley it is nestled in the sage and oaks. Most holes have different play strategies depending on how far you drive the ball. A couple of risk-reward holes really make you think. The only negative is a couple of the greens were sub-par; i blame it on the drought as most of the usually full lakes are very low and the creek beds are dry. The price is very fair and I believe one of the underrated courses in San Diego. In regards to distance, even though it is officially in Valley Center, it only takes me a little more than 20 minutes to get there from Poway.
very enjoyable
We booked a tee time not knowing exactly what to expect. Hadn't heard to much about the course. What a pleasant surprise.
