Great day!
The background scenery was beautiful. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great value for Lake Tahoe
I play this course every year when I'm on vacation in Tahoe. This is one of the better courses to play. The condition is very good and the greens are kept up. It is pretty straight forward but on some holes you better know where to be for your next shot. A great atmosphere and a lot of fun!
long day
over 5 hours to play. on number 10 4 groups waiting. a two some with us left.
Love being here
The course is entertaining and the weather is perfect. Had fun with my friends from San Antonio and my one local friend.
Beautiful views
Loved this golf course. Although the yardage is long, par is not out of the question even for the average driver. Fairways in good shape, greens were true but at times slow. The course layout is such that walkers can keep pace. Beautiful scenery, ranger and refreshment cart on the course. Staff very friendly. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful Course
We had a lovely experience.
Friendly staff. Very Accomodating
We had a group of 7 who had not seen one another for years, so socializing between the group of four and three, although not common for golf, was no problem as we did not slow the pace. The staff made us all feel very welcome.
Great course, hard to not like the Lake.
This is a great course, friendly staff and some of the best greens I play. If you can read it you can sink it. Golf Now makes it affordable if you can get a Hot Deal. Don’t go during Celebrity Week at the lake though, all the members from Edgewood, one of my most favorite courses, $250 green fees, come over, 6 hour round. Best April til’ June 17 th. Then back in September oil’ October before they close. Keep it in the fairway and a good score can be had.
Beautiful Coirse
Course was beautiful and in great shape. Staff was friendly and helpful. Even got my first hole in one on #11!!! We would play this course every time we are in Reno.
Great course
Not too challenging, not too easy. Scorable. My only complain would be on pace of play. Every time I come here the 10th hole gets packed up for some reason. I don't know if everyone is stopping and ordering burgers and eating them in the clubhouse but there needs to be something done. I also wish they would have put an advisory notice on the greens being punched 2 days before playing as most courses do. Still an awesome course.
Great Experience, Great Value
I happened to be in town for a wedding and wanted to get in 18 before the ceremony. When I checked in I was told that the threesome that I was paired with had canceled and I would have the option to play as a single. Since I had the wedding later that day it worked out perfectly. I was first to go off (Before a 12 man tourney) and it took 2:20 to get around. The staff was great and I really enjoyed my experience here. I would absolutely come back if I had the chance. Really great value for the area and quality of golf. It's a pretty course with wildlife too- I saw this little critter on 9. I think people had been feeding him. He got within about 4 yards!
As for the course the front is wide open and is a nice way to start the day and get used to course conditions. The back is more difficult with some blind tee shots and elevation changes... which is weird because I was +2 on the back and not as good on the front. Anyway you should come here- I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Crisp
Cool day, ball flew a mile. Greens were in good shape, and unpredictable.
LTGC September 2015
the natural surroundings of this course are unsurpassed. Beautiful views of mountains, creeks and wildlife
Excellent Course in Beautiful Setting
This was my first visit to Tahoe, as part of a Navy reunion. It was a great start to the weekend. The generous width of the fairways on the front nine gives you the chance to ease into your comfort zone before things tighten up after the turn. I liked the many options presented, especially the numerous risk/reward opportunities on the par 4s. If you have the ability to shape tee shots, especially left to right, you can drive the green or come close to it on some of the short ones. I did not think the risks were so punitive as to deter one from going for it all the time. Playing it safe is never a bad strategy, though, but aggressive play is a viable alternative on this course, and a fun one, I might add. There is trouble in some areas, well within range of a wayward drive, or a chunky approach shot, but honestly, only very poor shots cause much suffering. It is very possible to navigate this course without a lot of stress, and post a very good score. I was curious about the effects of the drought and California water regulations going into the round. I was pleasantly surprised at how well things are holding up. There were no ill-effects. The fairways were lush, and the greens were healthy, smooth, and fast. Pace of play was pretty good, too, considering the volume of players on the course. There was a distinct marshal presence on the course, which obviously kept things moving. Despite the less than personable attitude of the bar staff inside the grill, I thoroughly enjoyed our day, and would love to return here next time I am in the area.
Tahoe's best value
This is a very nice golf course with generous fairways and fast greens. It is fairly long but it is also forgiving. Some blind shots can ramp up your anxiety and there is a small river that meanders throughout the course. If you hit into it you can usually retrieve your ball-sometimes NOT! Very nice 19th Hole and friendly staff. I will definitely play here again. Beautiful scenery and mountain views.
Great scenery, easy to walk, well maintained
The course conditions were surprisingly good, considering the severe drought. The driving range and practice facilities are good and provide you with the chance to warm up all your shots. We played on a Saturday. If you are able, Sunday or weekdays may offer better pace of play. Our round was nearly 5 hours. The staff is friendly. The course is local Tahoe and if you appreciate the Tahoe lifestyle (laid back and casual) you will enjoy the course and its beauty.
Terriffic golf course for the $$ !
This course is in really great shape! It is not far from South Lake Tahoe and it is worth the short drive! The course is challenging and the greens are nice!
Can't go wrong with this golf course!!
Enjoyable and just challenging enough
This was my second time playing this course on vacation in S Lake Tahoe. Golf is expensive in this area and this was the best deal for the money I'd say. The course was in excellent condition and played fairly with no more than the usual ground under repair areas. Fairways were generous but I still managed to slice or hook a few into the thick grassy areas on the sides. Forget ever finding your ball again if you do the same. I loved the big shady trees along the way providing relief from the sunny hot afternoon while we waited for our turn to play. This is a busy course so don't expect to breeze through it quickly. But pace of play was pretty well maintained today, though it was much slower on Monday. The mountains surrounding the course and the sighting of a lone coyote were inspiring. Lots of interesting birds hanging around. The locals I played with were friendly and helpful in guiding me along the course. I enjoyed the course very much and would highly recommend it.
fun to play
greens are great, wind can be a problem, keep it in the fairway
Pace of play
Our foursome was split up to accommodate a single. They sent off three and then the two in our group. Had to wait every shot all day long! Rangers/ambassadors were of little or no help to keep those ahead of us moving at a playable rate! 5 hour round mid week is not acceptable!
Forgot to add that they have excellent practice/warm up facilities
