About
Located in Gainesville, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is one of the area's most popular public courses. The 27-hole layout is divided intro three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines, the Village, the School, and the Mill, share a beautiful rolling landscape provided by the surrounding foothills of the Appalachians. The School nine is the second longest of the three. Water comes into play on four holes, more than on any of the other nines. The course finishes with a memorable water hole. The par-5 ninth hole has two ponds that wrap around the green. Besides the water, you'll also have strategically placed bunkers to contend with. There are many challenging holes at Chicopee Woods G.C., but none of the courses are overly punishing for high handicappers.

Chicopee June 6
First time in years the pace was nice. Always before tee times were stacked tight with slow play. Hopefully, they’ve fixed this issue as no one likes to constantly wait in their golf round. I will play there as long as pace remains good. Otherwise, somewhere else.
Pace of Play
Course is nice, however the Pace of Play is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. No reason should it take 2 hours & 15 mins to play 9 holes. Slow groups should let faster groups play through & the course should spread out tee times, it’s ridiculous! I’ll never play this course again because of the pace of play. Also this was a business day not a weekend, just pathetic.

Great course
Course was in great shape, price is right, and the staff is top notch, as always.
Only drawback was a lot of ground crew action (I know it needs to be done), but was kind of distracting.

Always Great
I’ve played Chicopee several times and the course has always been in good condition. Interesting layouts on all three of the nine hole courses. And each nine has its own personality which makes for an enjoyable experience every time. You have chances to bomb some drives and also have to have precise shots in your bag. Dogleg holes, elevation changes and water are all part of the course. Challenging and fair for golfers of all levels.

Pace of play is awful
played front 9 in 1 hour and 40 mins and second nine waited behind three groups consecutively. Back nine took close to 3 hours… Not to mention the ranger warning us to speed up on the front nine that we were 15 minutes ahead of pace currently when he said so. Overall the course conditions were great but staff was not very friendly that i talked to and they stack TOO MANY tee times together.

Chicopee Woods is by far the best course in the North Georgia area. The conditions are exemplary and the price is one of the best around. I definitely play here more than anywhere else. 5 stars across the board!

Tough courses but nice conditions
Course conditions were very good. The fairways are narrow and undulate. Not much rough till you are in the woods and ball lost.
I like change of elevation but combined with with narrow fairways and some which had uneven lies, made it less enjoyable for the average golfer. My mates with low handicaps also has trouble. The greens were quite fast. it would take several rounds and replays to get accustomed. Still a good experience, but not for a beginner or higher handicap player
