About
Located in Gainesville, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is one of the area's most popular public courses. The 27-hole layout is divided intro three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines, the Village, the School, and the Mill, share a beautiful rolling landscape provided by the surrounding foothills of the Appalachians. The School nine is the second longest of the three. Water comes into play on four holes, more than on any of the other nines. The course finishes with a memorable water hole. The par-5 ninth hole has two ponds that wrap around the green. Besides the water, you'll also have strategically placed bunkers to contend with. There are many challenging holes at Chicopee Woods G.C., but none of the courses are overly punishing for high handicappers.

Great Course
This is a pretty solid course and the pace of play was on point. The only issue I had was the gnats. Outside of that, great course.

Quick outing
We were just looking to play local, saw a time on Chicopee. We weren’t sure what to expect this time of year, boy were we pleasantly surprised. The greens were amazing. The fairways were starting to come in also. Fantastic conditions for this time of year.

The staff is the best of all the courses in N. GA. Greens are in great condition and the balance of the course is as good as can be expe cted for the winter season.

Overall fantastic course
I've had their annual package for two years and wish I could have continued if I wasn't relocating. Aside from the amazing value, the staff and maintenance of the course is what made it special. I always felt welcomed and accommodated, special thank you to Keith and Ryan! Highly recommend you check it out, there are three 9's and each are unique, challenging but fair, and fun to play.

Fine.
Course was soggy due to all the rain. It is clear they take care of it and under normal conditions would be beautiful. There was one cranky ranger my group felt harassed by. We were five minutes off pace and kept being told and watched by the ranger. If we were impeding pace it would have been justified. The group behind us was almost 2 holes behind and they literally never waited for us. I went to the bathroom and he confronted me on our pace. No idea what his problem was. Why would he pick on us when the group behind us was so much slower is confusing and seemed like a weird power trip.

Tee off every 8 minutes
Tee off every 8 minutes, this made entire course on every single hole 5 minutes delay, 2-3 teams waiting for tee shot

Nice track but….
Nice track with fun greens. The starter was very confused as he would ask my name, teetime, cart number several times. Saw ranger sitting in the woods smoking his cigar on the third hole. He never came around while we on the course in our 4 hour 20 minute round. Most rangers at other courses ride backwards checking on gaps in groups, pace of play, etc. Nope…never saw this guy again. Inside staff very friendly. But outside starters/rangers working for their free golf need retrained on customer service and job duties.

Always in good shape from tees to greens. Well managed and friendly.
Biggest issue is pace of play at time. I’ve been behind group that are 2 full hole behind after 7-8 holes and even though someone maybe be driving around in a cart they don’t address the group.
It should be you catch up by hole 12 or we will let 4 groups behind you play through. I’ve seen that at a few courses and is very effective. This can be done in a respectful manner.
Overall though my favorite course in the area.
