About
Located in Gainesville, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is one of the area's most popular public courses. The 27-hole layout is divided intro three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines, the Village, the School, and the Mill, share a beautiful rolling landscape provided by the surrounding foothills of the Appalachians. The School nine is the second longest of the three. Water comes into play on four holes, more than on any of the other nines. The course finishes with a memorable water hole. The par-5 ninth hole has two ponds that wrap around the green. Besides the water, you'll also have strategically placed bunkers to contend with. There are many challenging holes at Chicopee Woods G.C., but none of the courses are overly punishing for high handicappers.

Good round
Course was in great shape. Play was a little slow . A lot of vertical both down course and cross course..will play again when I am in Georgia

Great bang for the buck
Pro shop staff is top notch and the course/ greens are in wonderful condition! Super fast Bermuda greens. Killer driving range on site as well! Best in hall county!

Played School to Mill.some of the holes very wet around the green, chipping was very awkward, overall 4 star....

The course was to wet
Hasn’t rained in weeks but the watered the greens and fairway so much that it was like playing hours after it rain. I mean if you hit the fringe the ball would almost plug. When you walked I most of the fairway water would come out of the ground some spit almost had water standing in it. For the money I would never play that course wet. It’s a tuff track. Fun but hard. Greens was awesome as always.

Fix the pace of play
Pretty good value for the money…..if you can handle long rounds. The last three times I’ve played there, the pace is excruciatingly slow. Talking over five hour rounds. And the staff, marshals, etc. are oblivious. They do nothing to keep it moving. They overbook. I won’t play there on weekends any more, I just do not enjoy a round of golf where you have to watch the entire foursome in front tee off and then clear the fairway on every single hole. No thanks.

Getting better every year
They continue to invest in the course and the practice area to keep them looking great. The addition of hundreds of azaleas this fall adds to the visual beauty of the entire course. You will enjoy every round you play at Chicopee Woods, so check it out.

Course is in great shape!
I’ve played Chicopee a few times now and even though it’s a bit of drive up from Cumming it’s well worth it for the value of the course. It’s been in great shape each time I’ve played and the rates are very reasonable. The course does stay very busy so expect a slightly slower pace of play but things tend to keep moving pretty well for the most part. Would definitely recommend!
