About
Located in Gainesville, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is one of the area's most popular public courses. The 27-hole layout is divided intro three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines, the Village, the School, and the Mill, share a beautiful rolling landscape provided by the surrounding foothills of the Appalachians. The School nine is the second longest of the three. Water comes into play on four holes, more than on any of the other nines. The course finishes with a memorable water hole. The par-5 ninth hole has two ponds that wrap around the green. Besides the water, you'll also have strategically placed bunkers to contend with. There are many challenging holes at Chicopee Woods G.C., but none of the courses are overly punishing for high handicappers.

No Marshall. Cram in tee times.
We waited on hole 1 for more then 20 min past our tee time. Waited on every single hole for 10-20 minutes and played 2 balls each in a 2 sum. We didn’t see a Marshall all day and quick after 14 at 5 hours. Great rates because of how it’s managed which is horrible.

Prob worth going elsewhere on the weekend
25 min late to start right out of the gate, took 3 hours to play 9 holes, had group behind hitting into us repeatedly due to the wait we were are feeling, left after 9 or would have been out until dark. Hassled about getting a raincheck for the other 9…won’t be back.

Great value
I play this course weekly and stays available with its 3 nine hole challenges. The conditions are wonderful, staff friendly and they keep pace of play moving. The only rub I have is with call in reservations. Sometimes that’s the only way I can schedule a tee time outside of Golf Now. It transfers to a switch board of very poor English speaking operators. They don’t listen and can’t make decisions and are unhelpful. Today, 5/26, they said “the golf course is closed” so they can’t make a tee time. I can however, make a tee time for today on Golf Now so they are NOT closed at 9:00 a.m. Wow, find a better service.
New tee area
The tee area on #5 on the Mill Course is terrible. I play the green tees along with most other senior golfers.
A new tee area for green tees should be developed. A “lot” of grass area is available between the red tees and white tees.

Nice course
Good, nice course - will be back. Would of liked to get a drink at the grill after our round, but it was closed at 7:00 PM on a Friday?

TOO SLOW - Pace of play stinks
This is a great public course but they sale too many tee times per day. Get ready for a 5.5 - 6 hr round.

Great course but books way too many tee times
Great staff & Maintenace crew does a stellar job for as many golfers a day sees this place. IMO they book too many tee times & the pace of play is quite slow. If you don’t mind the wait, this is your place. Great facilities. Great public course.

First Time with my Daughter
Everything was great. The Village was the easiest side, but, The School is a beast. Very challenging.
The only complaint we had was that the clubhouse was closed and no one could you the restroom. Aside from that, our foursome was very happy with the way the day went.
We will be back.
