Windermere
Nice course, good greens some trickery holes. Would play again
Great course
I love the course and play it whenever I can find it at the right price since its so close to the house.
Nice little gem
I had never heard of this course before this round but I will definitely be back. Nice value, surprisngly great condition and a great challenge.
This course is not easy and it can be tricky... be conservative off the tee. But the place was in superb condition and the greens were perfect.
You will enjoy it!!!
Nice course
The course was nicely laid out and challenging for me. It was in great shape and the staff members were very courteous and helpful, especially to first timers at their club. Reasonable price point for Orlando area.
Nice course for the money
Course was in good shape. The greens were slow but taken care of. Great scenery around the course and the clubhouse was great looking too.
Amazing Value from a Formerly Private Course
One of the best values on GolfNow. This used to be a private course and like many of its kind, the economy forced it to become public. Thankfully, the course conditions have not suffered since its transition. One of my favorite layouts of any course I've played in Central Florida. A must play!
Tricky layout if playing for the first time
We were a twosome that got paired up with another twosome from out of town. We very much enjoyed the round with them.
It was our first time playing the course and there are a few holes where you can most certainly hit it into trouble when diving the ball where you think you should go. Keep an eye on the doglegs, especially if you are a longer hitter as you can run out of room.
All in all, great experience, great value and wonderful staff.
nice course fair to play
Day was cold but got out and played fast. the layout was fair but could get yourself in trouble if unfamiliar or dont hit where you wanted to.
Nice course to play!
We enjoyed the course as it is a traditional design, reasonably open with moderate trees, some water and sand throughout the course. What you see is what you get...no trick holes which is a good thing. You need to pay attention to the water and how it cuts in on a few of the holes. Staff very friendly and pace of play was excellent. We will play again in the future.
A real value!
I have played Windermere many times on trips to Orlando. It is a good value. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The course will challenge you from whatever set of tees you play.
2/1/14
Good value for the money. Would play again. Course in good shape not excellent.
Great Find
Played with my son and loved the course. Took about 30 minutes to get there but worth the drive. Get directions, the GPS goes to the wrong entrance. Played for $60 each but would pay $100 next time.
Windemere
Weather conditions were windy, mostly cloudy, and cool when we played which made it tough to get comfortable. The course was in fairly good condition, but it lacks the finishing touches that could make it more upscale and appealing for a return visit. The fairways and greens were very playable and the overall value through golfnow for our foursome was very reasonable. I would say overall the course is very decent, but nothing truly memorable. The golf staff and restaurant service and food was very good.
Excellent value!!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed. The greens were extremely fast.
Well-maintained and excellent layout
Well maintained; Excellent condition; Greens were huge and highly undulating. I was very impressed by the quality of the course. Very challenging course.
Tucked away but worth the drive
Windermere Country Club is open for business to the public. This was a once fully private club but has opened their doors in recent years to garner more business. The recession hit this area hard if a course like this becomes open to the public.
This course was designed for all players, from beginners to the low single-digit handicappers. Played from the back tees, this course can have some teeth if you're not driving the ball well. From the front tees, you can take the kids out to have a laugh and a fun afternoon romp around the course without worrying too much about donating a small army of golf balls.
The greens were redone 3 years ago and have softened up. They could stand to be firmed up but who doesn't like sticking a 5 iron from 200 yards out? The par 3's on this course are where WCC fight back. They're either really long or fend you off with an undulating green with tucked away pin positions. This course has a great value, a wonderful staff and is worth the drive.
Not a great place to practice but honestly, if you're driving out to the burbs, are you really going to be hitting that many golf balls?
Due to the weather no further comments.
The weather was rainy and it was 50 degrees with wind. I cannot really comment on the course, other than it was playable, but a lot of walking with cart path only.
Good Course
Very enjoyable, staff was helpful for 1st time players
nice lay out
the layout was very good condition in Jan. fair, for the $40 worth the price for sure
