Winter Park Pines Golf Club
About
Winter Park Pines Golf Club has offered one of the most affordable rounds in the greater Orlando area since first opening in 1968. The course has a traditional design that is ideal for beginners though it's also great if you're looking for a quick, casual round. The par-70 golf course may seem odd with a par-34 front nine and a par-36 back nine, but the layout manages to blend together seamlessly. The golf course has short par 4s and par 3s of varying lengths. There is one par 5 that measures 462 yards. The first half of the course is especially scenic with mature trees framing most of the holes. In addition to the golf course, Winter Park Pines also has a practice facility available. It features a driving range as well as putting and chipping greens with a bunker.

Friendly, Friendly and Warm
I made a huge mistake. I thought I had booked for Friday, and accidentally booked a prepaid 9 for Thursday for two couples after lunch and shopping in Winter Park.
Imagine, I showed up a day late just at the start of Winter Pines fully booked Friday Scramble with an expired paid reservation. They could have, and would have been right to turn us away, but without argument or negotiation, we were able to play around my dumb mistake.
They accommodated us quickly and kindly, let us on immediately on the back 9. We had a great time. The course is fun, fair and like the people running the place Friendly and Kind.
The layout is simple, the back 9 is par 31, loaded with Par 3’s that are long for the ladies and older guys. The carts are equipped with GPS that includes pacing of play and avoidance of forbidden zones.
The course is in good condition, there is lots of trouble, but it’s fair trouble. The greens are interesting and challenging in places.
After our round, one of the kind friendly people who could have kept our money and turned us away, ran out to make sure we enjoyed the round and wanted to come back.
You get more than you pay for here at Winter Pines. You get an old school feel of community and simple decency that modestly delivers value and enjoyment.
This is what at golf can be, great fun in a pretty and friendly community feel course. We will play it again and again. I must have said “What a friendly place, what a friendly course” a dozen of more times. No ego, no attitude, this place just wants to be your friend and you deserve to play in a friendly place.
WP18
Had never played Winter Pines over the years due to some not so good reviews. It looks like the new owners have really made a difference as this felt like a healthy club with friendly staff and a good vibe around the clubhouse. Course is in good shape with great fairways and tricky greens. Was allowed to tee off early by friendly lady in shop - got around in about 3 hours so pace was fantastic!! Would recommend!!
Great Course
Played today, had a great time. Course is in good condition. Greens are a challenge, but that’s what makes this course fun. It’s fair & challenging at the same time.
The amenities that are offered are great. I’ve played WP9 many times, so happy WP has taken over WP18. Two great courses in WP.
Fun golf will be have by all.
vast improvements
So much better since WP bought it. Greens are better than they were...still some room for improvement. Geo fencing on carts now.
Winter Pines is a great value
great course for the money - greens were in good shape - pace of play was fast - playing again tomorrow
In pretty good shape
Now that the city purchased the course it is in much better shape and it’s fun to play. Unfortunately WP9 had taken a drop in condition and service since the purchase, but it’s to be expected.
Great course!
Once the greens grow out entirely I will give it a 5 star. I really enjoyed the course.
Winter Pines find
Wonderful day. Excellent value. Course needs better signage showing where the next hole is. We were confused a couple of times. But otherwise, it was fine.
Overall a great little course. A few of the par 3’s on the back nine could be stretched to par 4’s to make the back nine a little more player friendly. Staff is great. Clubhouse amenities are excellent since the upgrades. Could use a beverage and snack person to meet the players on the course needs to reduce the possible congestion and pace of play around near the turn.
Love this course
Staff is very friendly! The course is in great shape now that the city owns it. Good driving range and practice areas. Not only is the course in great shape, they keep prices reasonable as well. It’s never too crowded. Obviously has the usual slowdowns of pace during busy times. But never have multiple tee times backed up waiting to play.
OUR FAVOURITE COURSE
We love golfing at Winter Pines. We only play there during our time during winter. The friendliness of the staff helps us feel very welcomed. HIghly recommended.
