Winter Park Pines Golf Club

The old course is in great shape and is still a tough challenge. The oy problem was it took 5 hours to play this short course. Some people really should not play golf if they are that slow. The Ranger did come out and got the group moving but that was on hole 12. Thankful for that. Greens were rolling nice and overall in good shape. The staff is awesome and helpful. If you want to challenge your skills Winter Pines will do that.

Overall the course is a great value, good mix of easy and challenging holes. When I checked in the, the friendly staff advised they were sanding greens during the round. This made play a little slower both from waiting for crews to finish work, and actual play conditions. Definitely will come back as the fairways and tee boxes were in nice condition and would like to see the course in its full beauty when maintenance isn't being done.

Decent layout, but wet, and very slow pace of play. It’s just too busy to be better than 3 stars.

The course is the same...straight, flat and boring...3 or 4 200 yard par 3s on the back are not fun or interesting at all...this course is played a great deal and tends to be a very slow pace...they did get some better used golf carts with wind shields and cover for the clubs, a major improvement...I try to play twice a week and hate playing a course more than 2 times a month so I go here 2-3 times a year and always wonder why afterward...a lot of people like it so it could just be me

For the money this is one of the best courses in Central Florida. During high traffic parts of the year it can get beat up. For $25-$35 you can't beat it. The weekend mornings get very packed and children are not allowed, I don't know if thats just a weekend thing. So if you're booking a morning tee time on Saturday or Sunday plan on a starting a few mins later. Since the city of Winter Park took the course over its been in way better shape in my opinion.

A short course with several Par 3s of 200yds or more. The service of the attendees was excellent and the conditions of the field as well.

Winter Pines is in very good shape. Tee boxes and greens were in excellent shape.Fairways were clean to hit out of.

Pace of play was a bit slow as many high school and younger players seem to play in the summer without regard for twosomes and threesomes behind them wishing to play through. A couple of rangers could alleviate this with little effort. $ value was very good. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Overall, a great value for a shorter course. Only drawback is in design: par 31 back 9 includes four straight par 3s (#14-17). All are challenging 3s ranging between 150 and 215 yards but combining #14 and 15 into a 90 degree dog leg right par 5 and then cutting a new par 4 18th hole (from space borrowed from the large driving range) would result in a back 9 par 34 for an overall par 70 instead of the current par 67. It would still be a short par 70 but the challenge would remain and the overall enjoyment would rise considerably.

Tried to play a quick 9 holes after I got off work. The worker in the clubhouse was very dry and rude. If it rains, you better pick a different course because this course does not drain well. Puddles everywhere. There is no cart path so you are basically driving through mud to get to your next shot. Greens are in better shape though.

This is a course that you can have some fun. The layout is not challenging, so if you are after a low score on a better than average kept course for a fraction of what other courses charge, this is the place for you. With low cost comes people that play slow, and no ranger to help with time, but you get what you pay for.
