About
Winter Park Pines Golf Club has offered one of the most affordable rounds in the greater Orlando area since first opening in 1968. The course has a traditional design that is ideal for beginners though it's also great if you're looking for a quick, casual round. The par-70 golf course may seem odd with a par-34 front nine and a par-36 back nine, but the layout manages to blend together seamlessly. The golf course has short par 4s and par 3s of varying lengths. There is one par 5 that measures 462 yards. The first half of the course is especially scenic with mature trees framing most of the holes. In addition to the golf course, Winter Park Pines also has a practice facility available. It features a driving range as well as putting and chipping greens with a bunker.

Place is booked beyond what they can handle at all times. Greens were in horrible shape. I get that it’s a lower cost course but they should still at least make an effort to be playable.

Lots of Players at The Pines
Crowded course because of location & cost, both outweigh the average/good grasses on course. This a short track, 3-outta-5 par3s on back9 are 200yrd+. A couple of greens are in poor condition --#5 has been rebuilt a number of times, but the crew is constantly working to maintain what they have. This is a fun course for us old folks, couples enjoying the landscaping, and the Friday-nite skin game .....but that mix of short vs long hitters will slow pace. Layout is compact, so be cognizant of players from almost any direction. Please don't park cart in front of green (#11 is good example), and just try to be a courteous player. The Pines is what it is, a fun layout to enjoy a few swings, a few errant shots (just don't laugh if/when you hit a house, ie #9), a few putts, maybe even A beer. Also, I should add the Proshop/starter will pair up singles & 2somes, so be prepared to meet new people. I'll be back, my score was disgraceful this day.

Pace of play=Horrible (Foursome 5 hours on a Wed.)
Due to the low price, some pretty bad personalities with little knowledge of golf etiquette or skill are there to ruin your day.
Bottom line= Stay away; you've been warned!

Value for the Price is EXCELLENT!
This is an excellent course for the money. Very popular. Tee boxes were ok, fairways would be better if 1/4 to 1/2" taller for less bare spots, but still good. Greens were as fast as any I have ever played here in Orlando. Maybe to fast. Had to be at least a 12 on the stent meter. All in all this is a fantastic value. Don't hesitate.

Overall, I enjoy the course, but the pace was exceptionally slow. I understand this course is very "beginner-friendly". With that being the case, the tee times should be spread out by a few extra minutes to account for beginners who may be playing at a slower pace.

Difficult greens
The best thing about the course is the greens that make shots from every direction a challenge. It was fun, but the pace was waaaayyyyyy too slow. It took 3 hours to finish 9 holes, so we took the loss and left after finishing the front.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Don’t play the weekend here
So every time I play this course on the weekend I usually regret it. The staff over books the entire tee sheet, sending off pairings every 5 minutes. There was a ranger but he did little to keep the pace of play up. This place is always so packed, making way for a pretty uncomfortable and long round.

Slow going
Two and a half hours for the first 9 holes and only 15 minutes quicker for the back, despite the run of Par 3s. The greens were so quick it made it unplayable at times and also held up play as inexperienced golfers were taking four or five putts on every hole.

Hard winter
I believe that this hard winter affected the course conditions greatly. With time to work on them it will help. But the course is very busy.

Enjoyable
Course is in decent shape, staff friendly and organized. The 5 par 3 s on the back side are all challenging and quite long.
