David L. Baker Memorial Golf
About
The David L. Baker Golf Course is an affordable public course located in Fountain Valley. It has an approachable layout that is versatile enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels. No two holes are alike but all of the greens and fairways share the same excellent conditions. Water has a prominent presence on this executive golf course with lakes and ponds running alongside many of the holes. The sloped greens are lightning fast and the fairways are tightly manicured. Beside the greens lurk treacherous sand traps that are just waiting to swallow errant shots. Although there are some tricky holes, the layout is gentle enough for beginners. It is an enjoyable and affordable round that offers excellent short game practice, no matter what skill level.

Good Layout
Fun day playing golf, but this is the second time that I have played this course the Blue Tee boxes have been moved up to between the yellow and white tee boxes. Pace of play was very good finishing in 3HR. and 6 Min.
To slow
The pace was way too slow fairways need some maintenance but not bad
Needs work and over priced
$53 for a course with no par 5’s . Greens were a complete mess. All tee boxes had not grass . Traps in most cases weee just concrete and unplayable. Very disappointed full price with these poor conditions.
Conditions seem to be deteriorated
There were pockets of time in the past when the conditions here weren't bad for a budget golf course. Today there was pretty much no grass in any tee boxes. Fairways were extremely patchy. And greens were in average conditions at best.
Wouldn't mind coming back with beginners to mess around with, but definitely wouldn't come here for a fun round of golf.
Budget Golf
Nice course for practice of your short game,
Public grass very short and hard
Poor condition for the most part. Tee boxes terrible. Greens ok. Standing water and muddy in several locations. Worst mats on the the range I’ve ever seen. Range is all dirt. The kind of tax money they have getting around here this course should be in much better condition. Won’t play again.
Decent Course
Decent course however, I would not pay over $30 to play here. I’ll play when a “hot deal” is offered to ride for $20-$30. Most of the tee boxes are awful and you have to walk around to find a decent spot to tee off from. Most greens are full of divots.. expect a few putts to divert out of no where. I’ve played solo during the week a few times at about midday, and finished 18 in 2-2.5 hours.
Course is just treated like shut from players. It’s got to be a blast for night golf. Day golf just shows sand tee boxes and greens missing grass with some holes all around.
Terrible pace of play
Terrible tees and fairways also
Greens acceptable, despite patchy grass
Plenty of Tee Times
If you need to scratch the itch, this is a decent little course for the money with plenty of tee times. Not a ton of variety across holes but decent conditions that look to be improving thanks to a friendly, caring staff. Highlight of the round we're the split, grilled hot dogs with roasted buns and pretty great canned beer selection.
