David L. Baker Memorial Golf
About
The David L. Baker Golf Course is an affordable public course located in Fountain Valley. It has an approachable layout that is versatile enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels. No two holes are alike but all of the greens and fairways share the same excellent conditions. Water has a prominent presence on this executive golf course with lakes and ponds running alongside many of the holes. The sloped greens are lightning fast and the fairways are tightly manicured. Beside the greens lurk treacherous sand traps that are just waiting to swallow errant shots. Although there are some tricky holes, the layout is gentle enough for beginners. It is an enjoyable and affordable round that offers excellent short game practice, no matter what skill level.

great place to squeeze in a quickie
nice course, pace of play was good for a week day, and didn't lose to many balls.
this a pretty good beginner course
This course is a pretty good beginner course. It has plenty of holes that you can use your driver and it also has some short par 3's
The greens are not taken care enough : to much divots & no marshals to control the pace.
Once you have a Tee-Off time : expect to play at that time: but the starter shows up late & it affects the the whole day. If the starter can not make it on time : why have the tee-off time set for? Where is the etiquette in the whole game?
Fast Pace
When you are on the go but wants to play an 18 holes instead of 9 holes this is a great place to come
4 stars overall
Had a nice time playing in that course, the only drawback is trying to book a tee time with golfnow for a single player. always had to call golfnow customer service to get me in after notifying the course about the availability of the the tee time. this happens all the time, and also the golf course has bad foul smell where they have small lakes around the course. i don't mind playing there all the time with hot deals rates.
great coarse to work on the short game
DLB is fun fast and cheap. The lights are good enough on most nights . Had an ace on 18 to beat my son by 1 stroke!
The course was good
We had a good time, will go back. The flow was good , no hold ups on any tees.
This is an excellent course to really get your short game down.
Had a great time playing on Monday afternoon--pace of play was excellent, course itself was in better than average shape, and the greens, though a little slow, were in decent condition.
A pleasant day of golfing.
Well maintained greens. Pace of play was great. We started at 11:50am and finished 3:20pm. It was a hot day and refreshment carts were readily available. Great day!
Executive Course
A great practice course for better golfers, and a perfect course for the aging golfers. The course is only as fast as the golfers playing, and it can get pretty slow. They have a nice senoir rate, and a fairly decent 19th hole. I understand there is night time play, but I have never tried it. A fun course.
A little hot, but was fun
I took a beginning golfer friend and it was good . He thought it was great. The price we got was good. The normal price is way too high.
Good for sharpening the intermediate and short game
Course overall is in very good shape and is challenging enough to help sharpen even an experienced player's short and intermediate shots. Some of the greens undulate and have double breaks -- which made putting for a novice difficult. Overall, a nice place to learn the game. My one caution is that slow play was not monitored. A twosome two groups in front of us caused significant delays, and contributed to the group behind us hitting into us three times. Management needs to place a couple of Marshals out there -- especially on a busy Holiday.
Nice little course for the price
Great course for any golfer's short game. Friendly staff and enjoyed having a beverage cart on the course.
Good Course ... Poor Lighting !!
Its a nice little course. Fairly well maintained. Good for day light play. But lighting is really poor for night play. Can barely see the ball in the fairways. They need to add lot more lighting to make it enjoyable to play at night.
Great value for the price.
I normally pay $15 for a par 3, this course does have it's ups and downs. Located in mile square park.
Fun course to play, bunkers were everywhere. One con I can say is that the snack bar/eating area closes pretty early. I didn't get to enjoy my normal eating/drinking break between the front and back nine. If you are a straight shooter this course will be nice to you.
If you tend to slice or draw to much, you will be hazards or another hole.
Overall, I will definitely play at this course again. Would recommend for anyone.
One of the best bangs for your buck
This is my number two course for Best Bang for Buck (Meadowlarke is my number one). This course does offer a grass driving range at no added cost, the carts are in good condition, and the grass is always in good condition. The course is not difficult at all. Fun for beginners and novice players.
good variety, for beginners to intermediate.
Course management & starter needs drastic improvements. No order...too many walk ons...kaos throughout. You can drive up to the green & no one would care. Very slow play....because the course choose to let everybody walk on & play. I used to play this course now for over 10 years but now I will not except on occasion because green fee is decent at times. Good practice place to start learning golf etiquette.
The coarse is a great value.
The staff are friendly and the course is well maintained overall. I recommend David L. Baker to my friends.
course in good shape
Play was more than a 5 hr round on a short course. only played nine because it was so slow. waited on every hole.
the course has well groomed greens
I always enjoy playing this course due to its very fun to play and its helps with my short game. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The greens are always in good shape and the fairways and well taken care of also
