Extremely slow play.
Very nice course layout. The weather still has the course damp and muddy in a lot of areas. Staff is great. Food and drinks are very good. For some reason everyone was playing slow and we never got a opportunity to stay warmed up. Being the first time this has happened to this degree, I am not letting me deter me from going back.
Tough course with unpredictable greens
Greens are uncontrollably fast, but not in a good way… On a slight windy days, don’t be surprised if your ball rolls off the green, past the shallow fringe and into the abyss.
Great Course to Play
Sunnyvale is a fun and challenging course to play. It's clean and ket up well. Tee boxes could use some work because they were uneven but overall grass conditions are good. I personally play well here, so I like this course a lot.
Tough course
Very tough putting greens will challenge you and increase your scorecard. Lots of slopes and hills, so practice different lies before coming. Bring a couple extra balls… lots of blind corners and hills, so if you’re not on the fairway, it might be trouble.
Meh
The course is all right. It’s got some interesting holes and nice views but is frustrating because the course design sometimes put you in a position where it is impossible to keep the ball on the putting surface, especially when you are putting/chipping from above the hole. This was a problem especially on the back 9 where several greens (13, 16 and 17, for example) were so severely sloped that there were almost no safe places to put the ball on the green, and nearly every shot we hit slid off the surface.
Bring your own distance measurements because when walking, there were no on-course markers to designate distances, whether on the tees, at 50 yard increments on fairways, or on sprinklers, so we were guessing distances most of the day. Carts do have GPS but were path-only. Signage was also confusing in places, as one of the par 5’s was closed but we didn’t know we were supposed to advance to tee markers over a hill in the fairway.
If I had paid 60 or 70 for the course, it would have been better, but the price point of 95 on a weekday morning felt steep compared to other courses in the area for what this course was - for example Coyote Creek’s tournament course is in far better shape and is a much more fun design - for 104 on a weekend morning.
Bay View
Course was still recovering from a prior week of heavy rain. Cart path only, and the greens were average for this time of year. over all enjoyed the round with my son and the pace of play was great allowing to time to walk the wet course.
Love the layout but ..
1. Cart path only throughout hilly and uneven course causing very slow play
2. No ball cleaner at tee boxes. Found only a couple but without a towel
3. Overall too expensive unless you find deal time from Golfnow
Golf moose deal was great but...
Paying $50 for a cart (that I did not use) while receiving range balls and a $10 voucher to use in the restaurant was definitely the highlight of our experience. The cart although equipped with a GPS was a pain in the rear end for those I played with. With the rain came the cart path only rule, so I decided to walk it. Only problem was after the first hole there was no signs of yardage or direction on where the next hole or tee box would be. I will also add that the course doesn't drain well at all. I know that I expected quite a bit of mud but it was ridiculous when the irrigation seemed to cause even more problems than the downpour we've had over the past few days.
On a lighter note, the staff was pretty friendly as far as those who actually spoke, and the food was pretty good as well. Honestly I'm not sure if I'd play here again but it could be better with a few improvements. If I do play here it definitely won't be in the winter time, and I would never pay the $99 that they're asking for on the weekend.
Geofencing around carts is absolutely ridiculous and pointless. Will never play here again.
Good time
Course was in decent shape. Tee boxes a little rough on several holes, but for the most part all was good.
No ball washers and golf cart cuts out when in unauthorized areas (and I get it) but its kinda annoying.
