Pace of play is horrendous
Our group was stacked with 2 in front and 1 behind from holes 2 thru 7. After 7 we went to the clubhouse to request a rain check and was accused of lying with the shop employee claiming we were on pace. 10-15 minute wait on each tee box is never on pace. Will never return with the amount of better value options in the South Bay Area…
Unique and challenging layout
This was my first time playing Bay View. I was treated to excellent customer service all around. The course is a unique layout that requires you to think on the tee box. Fairways look generous bit have sever slope so there are preferred landing areas in order to have a clean look at the greens
Greens are very nice. They rolled smooth and held approach shots well.
Fairways were mostly lush but there were a number of brown and dead spots throughout
If you are looking for a unique layout to break up a parkland been there down that type of course then this is your place. But some might find some of the holes gimmicky. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the track and will definitely play it again
Bayview is a good golf course - not well maintained
Bayview golf course is not well maintained. The bunkers don’t have enough sand. The tee boxes are uneven and fairways are not maintained well. The price charged - it isn’t value for money.
Week day twilight 4-some is the best deal in the Bay Area! Well kept greens, great carts. Bring a hat and sunscreen!
Target Golf at its best
This was my first time playing Bay View. This course is built on a hillside and most fairways have severe slope to them so picking your landing spot (and hitting it) is crucial. It’s challenging but fun.
Greens had a good amount of slope to them. They rolled true and held approach shots
Fairways were decent. Mostly lush with ample coverage but there were a number of brown dead areas throughout the course.
Custo service was excellent. Carts had GPSin them.
Overall a fun experience and I’ll definitely play it again in the future.
Restroom closure, No starter no marshal
The course was okay when it's name was Summit Pointe. Now under new ownership, staffs are not friendly they don't know what they are doing. They closed restrooms even there were golfers. They gotta be improved.
Over- Booked
There was too many parties in the course on one time. There was a pair in front of us and a quads in front of them, was backed up most of the day. It’s really windy here so that comes into play a lot. This rolling hills play into the course quite a bit, you really have to be accurate with all of your shots. For intermediate to advanced players. If you are just starting out, pick a different spot. You’re going to be losing a lot of golf balls.
Challenging and fun course.
Good shape. Big issue is pace of play for a Saturday morning was below acceptable for the price.
A much improved course
Since Summit Point was sold and renamed Bay View the course has done nothing but improve. For the most part the bald spots and marshes have been replaced with beautiful green fairways. The greens are in great shape. We seldom played the old Summit Point but Bay View will certainly be part of our regular course rotation.
pretty but difficult
this is a challenging course, not just because the fairways are skinny and the rough is so tall that even just off the February you can barely find your ball. I definitely enjoyed playing the back nine more than the front nine. It's still pretty soggy in some places, but there are some monster par 5s that are fun to swing the big dog at. I'm also not that good so better players might have more fun. I would classify this course as a intermediate to advance. You can't beat the views on the first five holes though, stunning vistas of the entire east on South Bay
