Not a bad course

Definitely improved since the time before last when I played pre start of Covid in 2019.

Appreciate the new owners putting in time to improve the grounds, updates to their on premise range and practice green.

Only thing that is a bit annoying but tolerable are the carts geo fencing. Go off the mark just a bit and your cart disables and you have to reverse to get back in allowed functional range. Not every shot hits the fairway so when you're just in the the rough furthest from the designated cart path the cart disables. Even if your ball is on the next fairway, I've seen golfers not be able to drive to it. What's the point of having GPS yardage on the cart if you can't park next to the ball? Understand limits and safety of course but the geo fencing on the golf carts could be programed a bit better.

Overall course has much improved and have played it twice this summer so far. I will likely be back and look forward to any new additions the owners add to this great site.

2nd visit

I had low expectations based on the prior reviews that I had read. I found the course to be in better shape than the rating stated.

This course is, however, very tough. Nothing is level. Every fairway leans drastically to one side of the other..

I just chalked it up to practice. Staff is just fine. The driving range could be better.

Strategic and rewarding

Second time playing here, this time in the afternoon with the wind. If you plot your way around the challenging fairways you will be rewarded with some scoring clubs in your hand. Conditions of the course are all around decent to slightly above average. Nothing superior but nothing to complain about. It’s a fun, challenging layout that has some creative holes that really make you think off the tee. Greens are receptive and hold well struck approach shots.

Pace of play seemed slower than it actually was

Course has nice views being on top of a hill and there’s a decent bar/restaurant to greet you afterwards

Youth Supervision

During our visit there was many youth participating in what appeared to be golf clinics. The groups of kids were being supervised by what appeared to be young adults or teenagers. They had very little control of the behavior of the kids. At one point a golf ball almost struck my wife and I on the driving range that came out of the simulator area. Out on the course we saw a larger cart taking 4 kids out to play a hole. The girls in the cart were yelling out We're going to die", because the instructor was traveling way to fast. The profanity the youth were using was also unacceptable especially for a golf course.

Other than that our experience at Bay View was great and will plan on playing the course again in the future.

Avoid This Place!

In my 15 years of playing golf across 5 different states, this was the most terrible experience I've ever had at a course. Despite its location in the hills of The Bay, I didn't expect it to be this bad. The tee boxes were backed up for 15 minutes, with 2-3 groups waiting to tee off, and there was no course marshal to manage the pace. After playing 9 holes, we decided to leave even though we had paid $60 per person for 18 holes. When we respectfully relayed our concerns to the clubhouse, they dismissively denied any issues and refused to offer a refund or raincheck. Their response was rude and belittling. This was truly the worst golfing experience, and I don't recommend coming here. There are much better options in the area.

Pace of play is horrendous

Our group was stacked with 2 in front and 1 behind from holes 2 thru 7. After 7 we went to the clubhouse to request a rain check and was accused of lying with the shop employee claiming we were on pace. 10-15 minute wait on each tee box is never on pace. Will never return with the amount of better value options in the South Bay Area…

Unique and challenging layout

This was my first time playing Bay View. I was treated to excellent customer service all around. The course is a unique layout that requires you to think on the tee box. Fairways look generous bit have sever slope so there are preferred landing areas in order to have a clean look at the greens

Greens are very nice. They rolled smooth and held approach shots well.

Fairways were mostly lush but there were a number of brown and dead spots throughout

If you are looking for a unique layout to break up a parkland been there down that type of course then this is your place. But some might find some of the holes gimmicky. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the track and will definitely play it again

Bayview is a good golf course - not well maintained

Bayview golf course is not well maintained. The bunkers don’t have enough sand. The tee boxes are uneven and fairways are not maintained well. The price charged - it isn’t value for money.

Target Golf at its best

This was my first time playing Bay View. This course is built on a hillside and most fairways have severe slope to them so picking your landing spot (and hitting it) is crucial. It’s challenging but fun.

Greens had a good amount of slope to them. They rolled true and held approach shots

Fairways were decent. Mostly lush with ample coverage but there were a number of brown dead areas throughout the course.

Custo service was excellent. Carts had GPSin them.

Overall a fun experience and I’ll definitely play it again in the future.

Restroom closure, No starter no marshal

The course was okay when it's name was Summit Pointe. Now under new ownership, staffs are not friendly they don't know what they are doing. They closed restrooms even there were golfers. They gotta be improved.

Over- Booked

There was too many parties in the course on one time. There was a pair in front of us and a quads in front of them, was backed up most of the day. It’s really windy here so that comes into play a lot. This rolling hills play into the course quite a bit, you really have to be accurate with all of your shots. For intermediate to advanced players. If you are just starting out, pick a different spot. You’re going to be losing a lot of golf balls.
