About
Edgewater Golf Club has a peaceful setting tucked away in Lancaster. The course feels completely secluded with a layout that tumbles across rolling hills covered with a blanket of matures trees. The terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing the layout with dramatic elevation changes and plenty of water. In addition to the natural hazards, there are numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. An abundance of wildlife also calls the golf course home, so don't be surprised if you see deer or turkeys roaming the course. One of Edgewater Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-4 seventh. This tricky hole is a downhill dogleg left that forces you to drive right-center of the fairway, followed by a tough approach to a green that sits on the bank above Fishing Lake Creek.

Fun on the fairways
Edgewater is a fun course with a challenging but fair layout. I live about 50 minutes away, but it is worth the drive.
Good Layout
We enjoy playing this course for a change of pace from our normal courses. Considering the weather, the course was in good shape. Greens rolled true and fairways were fine to hit off. Staff was very accommodating and great to work with, This will be interesting to see when the clubhouse is completed, it is looking good right now.
Great course to play on a cold day
Cold day and had an early teetime.
Frost delay was 45'. Also, range and putting green were closed due to the frost delay.
Once we got started, it was a great day. Pace of play was great as there was no one behind us. Course is in great shape other than some water spots in some areas. Greens are in fantastic shape.
Will definitely come back.
Do. Not. Play.
Absolutely a disgrace to the game of golf. Scheduled a tee time for 1:30pm and showed up on hole 1 at 1:29.
There was 8 golf carts in front of us and no club pro to be found. Took 3 hours to play 9 holes.
Unless you have all day long, don’t waste your time with this course.
Excellent South Carolina Course
My favorite course within an hour of Charlotte. Absolutely beautiful.
Get a cart though, tough to walk.

Back after a HIatus
Edgewater is one of my favorites despite the fairly lengthy drive from Charlotte, but I hadn't been there for a couple months due to the afternoon only Golfnow tee times and some challenges with the condition of the greens. However, with cooler temperatures and just enough sunlight without DST the time was right. The general conditions of the course were as always great and the greens were much better. I was happy to get at least one more round in there before the season is over for me.
getting better
it was a little wet from resent rain but not bad.
the bunkers are very nice and well maintained, the t boxes and fairway were pretty nice for November too.
The Greens have grown back and are looking pretty decent.... they are however very shaggy and slow by Edgewater standards. I assume they are still in recovery mode.
Now the group in front of us were beginners, and very slow, didn't know etiquette.... not repairing ball marks etc... didn't know what I was asking when I finally asked to "play through " on hole 5. But it worked out and I think they know now what that means.
all in all good day.... greens should be fine very soon.
