Edgewater Golf Club has a peaceful setting tucked away in Lancaster. The course feels completely secluded with a layout that tumbles across rolling hills covered with a blanket of matures trees. The terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing the layout with dramatic elevation changes and plenty of water. In addition to the natural hazards, there are numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. An abundance of wildlife also calls the golf course home, so don't be surprised if you see deer or turkeys roaming the course. One of Edgewater Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-4 seventh. This tricky hole is a downhill dogleg left that forces you to drive right-center of the fairway, followed by a tough approach to a green that sits on the bank above Fishing Lake Creek.

Perfect Day of Golf!

First time playing Edgewater and it was so worth it. From the Augusta, GA area and was heading up to Charlotte for the PGA Championship when we decided to stop and play a round of golf while on the way up. The location is beautiful, secluded, hilly, and in great condition. There is still some construction going on to include the Practice Green, however, the Range and course were great!

Greens were aerated a few weeks prior and they were maybe a week away from being perfect, but this did not affect play or the enjoyment. We practically had the course to ourselves and were absolutely thrilled. Course conditions were great and the GolfNow HotDeal was a nice treat.

Actually planning to drive back up (~2hrs) in a week or so to play it again. Definitely adding this course to my rotation!

This my son and mines favorite course in the Charlotte/Rock Hill area. The new clubhouse is outstanding & the staff is the best! Most challenging Par 3's in the area...hands down.

Great place for a round of golf with friends

After seeing multiple reviews of Edgewater that didn’t seem to be really positive about the quality of the course I decided to go see for myself. I’m really glad I did. This is a very nice place and really nice people to deal with. They’ve just recently built a new clubhouse and weren’t completely open in all areas but the pro shop, restrooms, and snack bar were open. The bag drop guys were very helpful and same for the starter. The course wasn’t perfect but having to manage all the new construction I’m sure things are hectic. Not saying that it’s in bad shape because it’s not they had a lot of rain and it was a little wet for a while early but continued to dry up as the day progressed. Very surprised to only be 90deg. and not CPO. Bent grass greens in great condition with decent speed. I’m guessing 10 on the stemp. Really nice design though the hills of NC.

If you’re looking for a nice place to play I would recommend going for the day.

GB 4

Course was in very good condition except for wet areas and ground under repair. Tough course if you’re not hitting it well due to significant elevation changes and side slopes. Green fees were a good value for a holiday weekend.

Up and coming

This is a great course in excellent shape. The club house is still under construction as iix the large practice green. This will be a beautiful complex when it’s completed. It has a challenging layout and in really nice condition. Pace of play was slow on this day. We have played it in the past where it was much quicker. One of our favorite courses in the area, although it’s a long drive from Charlotte, about an hour.

Good Change from CLT

Course is always in pretty good condition and worth making the drive out from CLT for every now and again. Fun layout as well with the elevation changes, and you feel quite “in the woods” through most of the round. The only drawback is pace of play - first 9 tends to follow pretty true while the back 9 perpetually seems to take longer than the card suggests. It would be appreciated for the Marshals to make their presence known on the back rather than just being “around” on the front. The new clubhouse and facilities will be top notch once opened.

Great day to play

A light mist that showed up now and then and wasn't even enough to get out the umbrella for apparently scared most away and for the first time in a long time we had the course to ourselves. Awesome! Course in good shape and staff was very helpful and cordial as usual. I will forever miss the days before all the houses went up but great course just the same.

Lots of Ups and Downs - On the Course and Card!

We found a very nice course between Charlotte and Columbia at Edgewater. The staff was very nice, especially the starter. There was a really nice driving range, but the chipping green was not yet open and neither was the new clubhouse. In another month or so, this place will be really, really good. The course seemed to change elevation on every hole - lots of uphill shots and downhill shots, but nothing too punishing. It provided a fun challenge on a course in good shape.considering it was early spring. would love to play here again later in the year.
