About
Edgewater Golf Club has a peaceful setting tucked away in Lancaster. The course feels completely secluded with a layout that tumbles across rolling hills covered with a blanket of matures trees. The terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing the layout with dramatic elevation changes and plenty of water. In addition to the natural hazards, there are numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. An abundance of wildlife also calls the golf course home, so don't be surprised if you see deer or turkeys roaming the course. One of Edgewater Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-4 seventh. This tricky hole is a downhill dogleg left that forces you to drive right-center of the fairway, followed by a tough approach to a green that sits on the bank above Fishing Lake Creek.

Outstanding course
This was the second time we played this course. It's the best I played this year. Greens were outstanding! Course was in excellent condition. Staff was superb. Cart staff brought me a cart before I even turned off my truck. I live 1 hour and 20 minutes away. Best course so far in SC.
Great Course!!
First time playing at this course and thoroughly enjoyed the course. The fairways make it feel narrow and challenging with the tall trees so makes it somewhat of a challenge which I enjoyed. The overall surroundings is so quite out there which was really nice. One par 3 hole is very unique with the tee box floating in a small pond area. It was a tour length tee box but still had to try it out. I would definitely play this course again and plan to soon!!!

You cannot go wrong playing here. Always in good shape. Greens were punched recently but healing quickly.

Hidden Gem
Great course , lots of elevation changes , nice bent grass greens. The aprons are in need of attention. Interesting course you could play every day and different tees make it different course. Loved it and would recommend.

Slow Play is Management’s Fault + bad drainage
This course plays, dreadfully slow. Management, blames, bad golfers, and the homeowners association that surrounds the course but… They are just really bad at consistently delivering rounds under four hours. (by the way… Golf is a three hour game and if you take longer than three hours, please go pick up bowling.). But since the four hour round is here to stay… You would think Edgewater management could deliver what thousands of courses across the country do every day. They cannot. Save your breath, talking to them too. They don’t care.
One additional item… Terribly poor drainage. Sure every course gets a little soggy when wet…. but this maintenance crew could move hundreds and thousands of gallons of water, more efficiently with some very cheap/easy French drains. Tee boxes, collection areas, approaches to greens,… Standing water, and compressed mud in places that shouldn’t really collect water. There’s enough elevation at this place to get the water to drain off… But it’s always a mud pit.
Yes… On a perfectly dry day, where it’s been dry for a week… And you get lucky with fewer golfers on the course… You’ll have a great round. The layout of the course is excellent. But I’m telling you… You’re more likely to have a slow, muddy, wet round at this place than anywhere else in the upstate. Save your time and money… Go elsewhere.

Golf boom has ruined golf. Losers played from tips and only hit 260 yards max. 5 hour round. Dont come if you dont have 5 hours to play.

Course a little wet a lot of walking but survived, greens were about a week earlier aeration putting pretty rough greens otherwise good

Usually worth the Drive
Normally I rave about this course. Give it about 7-10 days before the greens mature back from the aeration. There are still significant holes in the greens making it impossible to make putts at this time. Once the greens grow back the course will be fantastic.
