About
Edgewater Golf Club has a peaceful setting tucked away in Lancaster. The course feels completely secluded with a layout that tumbles across rolling hills covered with a blanket of matures trees. The terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing the layout with dramatic elevation changes and plenty of water. In addition to the natural hazards, there are numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. An abundance of wildlife also calls the golf course home, so don't be surprised if you see deer or turkeys roaming the course. One of Edgewater Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-4 seventh. This tricky hole is a downhill dogleg left that forces you to drive right-center of the fairway, followed by a tough approach to a green that sits on the bank above Fishing Lake Creek.

Great layout and condition
The course and the scenery are beautiful. Very tight fairways on most holes. Bent grass greens are in great shape and true.
Would give higher rating except for 2 situations: Requested to allow only a threesome for health reasons but they said they would place a 4th with is regardless. Secondly, it is never a surprise when the starter is a grumpy older man but this guy took the prize as the rudest I have ever experienced..he was downright ugly to us.

Great course - worth the drive
Edgewater isn't terribly close by for Charlotte golfers but its worth the trek. The course is always in great shape and has a fun layout with a variety of different types of holes. Lots of tree-lined fairways so you can definitely lose some golf balls if you're not hitting it straight.
The practice green is a bit too small and undulating. Also doesn't really have a 19th hole to sit back and grab a beer after the round.
Overall, I would consider it one of the better public course options in the greater Charlotte area, and possibly the best value.

Very Nice Course
Excellent hole layouts and very well maintained course. Only drawback and its a minor one - the greens were in perfect shape but were slow - Which I suppose many would prefer. The staff were great and the overall experience was very enjoyable. Playing conditions were perfect, but I could definitely see where wind would make this course much more difficult. Many beautiful holes with elevated tee boxes. I would definitely recommend this course.

A must see
Edgewater was a treat. It was well manicured, the layout of the holes were very challenging, and it gave me everything I wanted in a golf course. Short 3’a, long 3’s short 4’s, etc…. My only critique would be the greens were a little slow for my liking and #16 should be a par 4 not a 5., I shouldn’t be hitting driver 9 iron into a 5.

Great but
Great course and value. Absolutely beautiful setting. However, pace of play was horrendous--5+hours. Not a Marshal in sight. Also, it was hot as heck/mid 90's. Not a beverage cart on the course except for at the turn.

Nice experience, pretty course
I've played Edgewater probably a half-dozen times and have enjoyed it every time. I've brought a couple of buddies out there and they also enjoyed. It's great that each hole is its own entity -- you can almost never see other fairways, other golfers or houses.
Many holes involve significant elevation changes, and they are lovely to look at and a challenge to play.
There are lots of trees, and I'm always behind a few of them, but it's a fair course that one can score on if one hits it fairly straight off the tee. And there are some scrambling opportunities, too.
This last time we played the greens were much slower than I remembered, so that took some getting used to. Maybe fairly recently aerated?
Good range, too, and a bucket's only $5.
All in all, I always enjoy it. It's an effort to get to from Charlotte, but that helps keep it relatively uncrowded.

One of the best in the area!
It’s the only course in the area I try and play at least once a week. I like to play one different course and edgewater every week because edgewater never fails to impress me. As the summer comes near the greens are getting better and better, even during their local tournaments the pace of play still isn’t bad. By far my favorite course in the area.
