About
Edgewater Golf Club has a peaceful setting tucked away in Lancaster. The course feels completely secluded with a layout that tumbles across rolling hills covered with a blanket of matures trees. The terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing the layout with dramatic elevation changes and plenty of water. In addition to the natural hazards, there are numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. An abundance of wildlife also calls the golf course home, so don't be surprised if you see deer or turkeys roaming the course. One of Edgewater Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-4 seventh. This tricky hole is a downhill dogleg left that forces you to drive right-center of the fairway, followed by a tough approach to a green that sits on the bank above Fishing Lake Creek.

Elevation!
Very rolling terrain requiring many different shots, uphill, downhill, and sidehill. Fairways are generally generous, leaving lots of landing space. Greens were in really good shape for Bent grass in the southern summer heat, and rolled true. If you knock your ball in the woods (you probably will at some point!), dig around and come out with a few others! Course is well worthy of being in the Charlotte area top 10.

Perfect Independence
Always one of my favorites,felt like we had the course to ourselves.Its a good layout and in excellent shape definitely worth the drive from Charlotte area.

Wow, a very nice surprise. Strategic design, well maintained layout. Not too difficult if you hit straight but you will lose many balls if you don’t. My new favorite in the Charlotte area. Well worth the drive!

HORRIBLE STAFF
The staff here was as worst as I’ve ever seen at a golf course. Matt was rude and didn’t seem to know what he was doing. He doesn’t have control over his staff. The carts were dirty and had trash in the coolers. The bathroom had toilet paper and hand towels all over the floor. I’ve played here before and have seen Chuck drinking a beer inside while working. The maintenance crew and done a great job on the course, but the staff and the clubhouse were horrible.

Great condition
Played very well it was busy but pace was right at 4 hours. We play here at least 3 times a month. I recommend it highly.

Worth the drive
We Found this course when my local course was shut down due to the pandemic. We drove down from Charlotte (55 min) and discovered a gem. Challenging course with elevated tees , beautiful scenery and no homes on the course. Greens are true but not too fast. Fun track and that’s what I like. Highly recommend this place.

Hidden secret
Edgewater is a great course in rural South Carolina about an hour from Charlotte... the price is great, and conditions are excellent. The staff is also top notch...

Horrible managment
Long story short. I had my 7yr old daughter with me. The PGA "pro" chuck little was rude from the start and demanded $5 for her to ride with me. Every course we play in the area always welcomes the kids and they let her play for free if I paid for myself. Chuck got wind and came out and saw my daughter hit a ball then pulled up to her demanding that she pay $55 to play any further. He was so rude to her she started crying. His response when i said see what you did to her was "it's not my problem or fault". Called his boss today another PGA "pro" Matt Gotto and he was defensive rude to was not in anyway during remorse for the way my daughter was treated. He then said he was busy and literally going up on me. KIDS AREN'T WELCOME THERE.
Edgewater Golf Club welcomes junior golfers, and we have reduced rates for juniors in the afternoon. Children under the age of 10 can play for $10 after 3:00 with a paid adult. Golfers age 11 -20 get reduced rates beginning at 12:00 each day, and a greater reduction in price after 3:00. We called many public golf courses in the area to see if our policies are in line with others, and they are. Not one golf course allows children under 10 to play in the morning, free or otherwise. You booked on a busy Sunday morning at 7:30 as a single with a threesome that was already on the tee sheet. You checked in and said your daughter was just riding in the cart with you. This is a game that requires honesty and integrity, and if we are to pass this game on to future generations, we need to set a good example and follow the rules. By your estimation, courses only support junior golf if they let you sneak your daughter on for free.
