About
Laurel Hill Golf Club has some of the best conditions of any public course in the area, which is why it is popular amongst the locals. It is hard to believe that the club sits where the DC Department of Corrections facility at Lorton used to be located. The layout has a traditional design, but unlike older golf courses it runs a lengthy 7,102 yards from the back tees. The greens are lightning fast and undulating. There is defined contouring throughout the course, which allows for some interesting holes. Although the fairways are wide open they are still punishing towards errant shots. There are dramatic elevation changes throughout the golf course, making a flat lie nearly impossible to find. The course provides a formidable test for even the most seasoned players.

They paired me up with a beginner
I am woman and played D1 golf, but I think they thought that all women play equally as bad or something and paired me up with a beginner woman. I did not appreciate that, since it was the twilight tee time and I could have played a little more.
Golf now did not report aeration
Golf now did not report aeration. It was $80 to play the greens had just been aerated and the fairways just aerate it and the golf course had specials going on but if you paid on golf now you did not get the special
Great Course but not easy
First time playing Laurel Hill.. Course was in overall in great condition - Tee Boxes, fairways & greens. 1 of the 2 sand traps I had to play out of could have used a little more sand and TLC. Greens were extremely fast but had zero divots... Course layout makes it pretty difficult compared to similar courses in the area, playing from the correct tees is a must. My only negative is that there were no grass areas at the driving range (although it looked like they might move the lanes forward at times to grass areas)....
One of the courses to play
An enjoyable round of golf. Could have been better if cart path only was not in effect. Pace of play was slowed and the walking to and from your shots was exhausting. Also getting to your shot and not having the right club affected your play.
Great day @ Laurel Hill
0947 tee time. Started with a frost delay. Told it would be about 1.5 hrs. We actually got out about 30 minutes after our tee time. I was allowed a separate cart as a single. Thanks guys. Pace of play was pretty good considering the frost delay. Not sure why it was cart path only. That part wore me out. Course is in excellent shape. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Range included which helped tith the delay. So, great course, staff and weather at a great price. What’s not to like. I highly recommend Laurel Hill. Loved the layout. And, it’s a BIG course.
Nice Course
Need a on-course Marshall to keep pace moving. Real nice course quick greens a must play.
