Course great, staff great, greens soaking wet with dew and they were never cut our entire round

Great layout, great conditions, long & tough but fair, pricey but not outrageous

Please do not play this course if you are a beginner. This is a very difficult golf course. You will be frustrated , lose many balls and take over 5 hours to play.

The course is long. Even from white or gold tees due to the changing elevation.. Play the blues if you're under 12 handicap. and can drive it 220 yards. The rough is deep. The greens are huge and have subtle breaks. Bunkers are big and deep. Like I said, this is a difficult course. It's well worth the price. It's very hard to walk. Long uphill walks in between many tee boxes and extreme elevation changes throughout. There are some tough par 4s. The course builds in difficulty on the back. IF you hit near the edges, the balls will kick into OB..it's deep lush briars , kudzu, trees, etc. The rough this spring has been lush.

The facility is great. Practice area, putting green and driving range. No lights. Dining area is solid. Kudos to the long standing cart person! She's fabulous. Jon Eisman has a teaching facility with all levels of PGA pros available to take lessons. They have a great setup.

The inside shop staff has improved their customer service. They're not PGA pro's. They are just county hourly workers, some just wanting free golf in return. They're not as surly as they used to be and try to be helpful. Starters and rangers all volunteers in exchange for golf. Some better than others...but hey let's all be kind.

Maintenance on course is great. I'm hoping this summer they don't over water the course like they've done in years past. There seems to be this tug of war between members and public. For a county course, it can be very hard to get a tee time. But let's face it, it's worth it. This is the flagship municipal course in the area. It's holding several USGA and VSGA events.

Nice course. Plays long. They control the carts like crazy so it is inconvenient to go to the different practice areas before the round. Staff is Ok. Not super friendly or accommodative but not surly.

Late Saturday PM tee off Easter Saturday. Had read about slow pace of play so did not think we would get round in given 3:30 tee time.18 finished in 4:10. Long course, even from white tees, but wide fairways. Greens are huge and hold pretty well. Will definitely play again. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.

This course can fool you on every shot. There’s no flat lies or shots on this track. If you happen to get a flat shot then you may want to check that you are on the right hole. You have to be ready to hit every conceivable type of shot before the round is done. Eventually this course will get the better of you but when you finish you’ll be happy you played it and are finished for now

This is a great track that can sneak up on you at any time. Requires some thought before just getting up on the tee and ripping it. Once you’ve hit the green you still have work to do to ensure you don’t give up any shots. There’s plenty of subtleties in the green that can easily turn your par into a bogey or higher. Concentration is a must until you put it in the hole. Finally the views and layouts of each hole is truly an impressive part of your day and you should make a little time to take it in and maybe a photo or two.

The course was plugged and punched and played as such. Putts were unable to roll true and we got many unplanned bounces due to the dirt plus laying all over the place. Due to the course conditions that is why I said it was not worth the $90 price. See my google review for the pics.

With this said give this course about three weeks and it will be in amazing shape. I could tell this was a nice track and the course is more of a resort style course. The fairways are plenty wide and the greens were huge. The bunkers were well placed and in fantastic shape too.

We saw the beverage cart multiple times. The clubhouse was speedy for food pick up. It was nice to have the range balls included but I personally hate hitting off the mats. The practice area was extremely busy but I had not issues finding somewhere to warm up. However I did question the pin distances based on the warm up spaces.

Recommended improvement would be for the the starter to let you know the pin positions and ask if you have played the course before to provide a better welcoming experience. I would also recommend having a few more club cleaning water stations on the range and make sure the sand bottles on the cart are topped off or have stations around the course to pick up filled bottles. Ours were almost empty and were done after three uses.

No mention of aeration when I booked the time. No break in the rate for the greens being aerated and the sand was thick sometimes on the green and other it wasn’t. Inconsistent greens. Bunkers not taken care of. Course tee to green is as easy as it gets since the mowed everything down to start the season. Will look elsewhere for my next round.
