About
Laurel Hill Golf Club has some of the best conditions of any public course in the area, which is why it is popular amongst the locals. It is hard to believe that the club sits where the DC Department of Corrections facility at Lorton used to be located. The layout has a traditional design, but unlike older golf courses it runs a lengthy 7,102 yards from the back tees. The greens are lightning fast and undulating. There is defined contouring throughout the course, which allows for some interesting holes. Although the fairways are wide open they are still punishing towards errant shots. There are dramatic elevation changes throughout the golf course, making a flat lie nearly impossible to find. The course provides a formidable test for even the most seasoned players.

Poor conditions
Have played this course a lot over the years and this is by far the worst condition I’ve seen it in. Dead grass everywhere and super slow greens. Course is tired and not worth the price.
Challenging
LH is a great course with very challenging features. The greens are normally excellent and fast, though a bit slower the day I played; maybe due to the warmer than usual weather of late. I would not recommend this course for beginner golfers, but great for all others.

Poor Greens
Greens were beat to crap. Divots were unattended to.

Not worth the price
Played this course last year and it was in good condition. Now, the greens are in bad shape. There’s tons of ball marks that have been untouched, could never find a smooth line. This course is definitely not worth $110 right now

Laurel Hill Golf Club
Played on 8 Jul and the course was in great shape. The staff really kept watering the fairways and greens resulting in a perfect experience. Really manage tee times efficiently and professionally. Range balls included in Green Fees which helped a lot too. Great value for your money.

Course in bad shape
This was a nice course. Greens are in bad shape and even though they had clearly watered the course grass is dying in a number of places.

Great, tough layout.
Conditions are great and Greens are fine but unfortunately are not being treated well by golfers…encourage your playing partners to do their part and fix divots.

It was Fine
Paid $120 to play here. Free range balls before my tee time so that’s always a nice perk. Pro shop is nice with a lot of gear. The course is long so the driver gets a lot of action. Fairways were in good shape for as hot and dry as it’s been. Greens were in decent shape minus the hydraulic spill on one green, and then the patchwork on another green. The rough really grabs your club head so try to stay in the fairway. Bunkers were kept up well and there are a ton of them. The pace of play was brutal. It took 4.5 hours to play 18 while being 94° out. Overall I think $120 for this course was steep, but that’s what you get for this area of VA. I’d play it again but maybe on a hot deal, or when rates change (if they do).

Green found wanting.
Course layout was definitely great as were the tee boxes and fairways. The green were not kept well and most people did not fix their ball marks, not clubs fault.

Great Course
