About
Laurel Hill Golf Club has some of the best conditions of any public course in the area, which is why it is popular amongst the locals. It is hard to believe that the club sits where the DC Department of Corrections facility at Lorton used to be located. The layout has a traditional design, but unlike older golf courses it runs a lengthy 7,102 yards from the back tees. The greens are lightning fast and undulating. There is defined contouring throughout the course, which allows for some interesting holes. Although the fairways are wide open they are still punishing towards errant shots. There are dramatic elevation changes throughout the golf course, making a flat lie nearly impossible to find. The course provides a formidable test for even the most seasoned players.

Laurel Hill Golf Club
Played on 8 Jul and the course was in great shape. The staff really kept watering the fairways and greens resulting in a perfect experience. Really manage tee times efficiently and professionally. Range balls included in Green Fees which helped a lot too. Great value for your money.
Course in bad shape
This was a nice course. Greens are in bad shape and even though they had clearly watered the course grass is dying in a number of places.

Great, tough layout.
Conditions are great and Greens are fine but unfortunately are not being treated well by golfers…encourage your playing partners to do their part and fix divots.

It was Fine
Paid $120 to play here. Free range balls before my tee time so that’s always a nice perk. Pro shop is nice with a lot of gear. The course is long so the driver gets a lot of action. Fairways were in good shape for as hot and dry as it’s been. Greens were in decent shape minus the hydraulic spill on one green, and then the patchwork on another green. The rough really grabs your club head so try to stay in the fairway. Bunkers were kept up well and there are a ton of them. The pace of play was brutal. It took 4.5 hours to play 18 while being 94° out. Overall I think $120 for this course was steep, but that’s what you get for this area of VA. I’d play it again but maybe on a hot deal, or when rates change (if they do).

Green found wanting.
Course layout was definitely great as were the tee boxes and fairways. The green were not kept well and most people did not fix their ball marks, not clubs fault.

Great Course
Course was in great shape with the exception of a couple of greens that had some recent maintenance done. Will definitely be back!

Awesome layout
The course layout is the best in the area. Every hole is different. Large fairways but very challenging course. Fairways are in excellent condition. Greens roll well but are a bit slower than they have been in the past. Traps are average. Pace of play is best in the area averaging 4 hours for an 4some. Overall a very good course to play.

Exceeded expectations
Played this course for the first time this week as it was a recommendation from a guy I played with earlier in the week. I would definitely play it again. Every hole was interesting with varying terrains. Greens were in very good shape considering almost every course in the area aerated in the last couple of weeks. Would definitely play it again.
