Fairways are starting to come in. Should be in great shape in a few weeks. Greens had just been punched and top dressing added. Give that 2 weeks as well. Pace of play was very good. Staff is very friendly and love the carts.

Course Review:

I recently played this course and had a decent time overall, but there are definitely some things to note. The layout is fun and offers a good mix of holes that keep things interesting. That said, the fairways are pretty bare in spots—there’s not much grass to work with—but they’re still playable if you’re not too picky.

One of the biggest letdowns was the greens. They had clearly been recently aerated, but there was no signage or notice anywhere to let players know. As a result, they were really slow and didn’t roll well, although they weren’t the worst I’ve played.

Pace of play was actually a highlight—things kept moving and I never felt like we were waiting around too long, which made for a more enjoyable round.

The biggest issue, though, is the cost. For what they’re charging, you’d expect a course in much better shape. They’ve raised the prices, but it feels like they’re doing less to maintain and update the course. It’s playable, sure, but not really worth the premium they’re asking.

Pro Shop was probably the worst I’ve ever been in because of lack of products. Driving range was not open and the greens were freshly aerated which led to undesirable conditions for putting. The bunkers were filled with clay and it took almost an hour to get two hot dogs at the turn. Lots of room for improvement. For what we paid, it definitely was not the quality of a semi private course.

Course is a nice challenging layout, which requires some thought process to play. Tee boxes were not up to standards on severall holes along with several bunkers in need of attention. Didn't know the greens has been plugged but they needed a top coating and made for inconsistent putting results. Range was closed due to wetness (that never starts the round out on a high note) nor was it indicated when booking round. Associate in bar area was very friendly and professional. Overall okay experience with some challenges.

Almost always a great place to play. Fairways were a bit thin but playable. Greens were nice and good speed. Greens are very undulating and tough to putt. A couple pin positions were a little suspect. Bunkers were ok, could use some TLC.

Pace of play was very slow, I think due to the group in front of us. My 2some was joined by another 2some and they were not good golfers. That is not a problem but when they are hitting 4-10 shots to get to the green and then 1-5 putts on the green without any regard for pace, that is a problem. The funny, not funny thing is we were still having short waits on many of the holes in this 5:25 hour round. I felt really bad about the group(s) behind us. As much as I enjoy Lake Chesdin, this ruined the round for me.

Very good experience. Cold and windy day but had the course to myself. Course very decent for winter conditions. Nice carts but rough cart paths. Nice layout and can tell it is very nice in season.

I liked the course layout and was in decent shape except for the greens had just been aerorated. The group in front of us had three carts which slowed things up a bit but overall it was a good value. I wish they would space tee times out a little.

This course is always a pleasure to play. Played after rain and the only issue was range was closed due to rain. Really should consider relocating the range or raising level as it will always flood because of the lower elevation. All in all course was great to play as always.
