Lake Chesdin Golf Club

Most recently, I played Lake Chesdin as part of a multi-day golf outing that also included Magnolia Green and The Highlands. This course received the best reception of the three by the 20 gentlemen from Harrisonburg that came down to play and I wholeheartedly agree with them. The conditions, though not perfect, were by far the best with good, dry fairways, smoothish greens (despite the aeration from late April), and raked bunkers.

The course also received high marks from the group for its diverse but score-able layout, with many of the guys having their best round here. I’ve always agreed with this sentiment that Chesdin’s layout has a great balance of being inviting yet interesting.

The staff here is top notch and at $55 twilight through GolfNow, it remain a good value.

Nothing like another spring round with punched greens. It would be nice if you advertise a round, for you to mention the greens are punched. It’s not fun

Overall great value for your money. Only negative is like with all courses, they don’t advertise that they just aerated the greens and offer no discount for doing so. But despite that, the greens still rolled pretty well.

Best bang for the buck course in the Area. The different tee boxes offer challenges for the novice and advanced players as well. Greens were in great shape for early spring.

Staff is always awesome! Course is a great challenge for all skill levels and just presents a fun time!

Would give the course 5 star rating if only the roughvwas cut little shorter. The balls are hard tobfind if your ball goes to the rough. The rough dies't seem very long, but for sone reason balls tend to bury inside the Bermuda rough.

Great course honestly one of the best in the area! The pace of play was slow for a few holes but Brandon was more than helpful polite and respectful. Most clubs shrug you off Brandon not only took the time but the accountability and expressed legit concern and offered real solutions. I truly love the course and the staff is just the cherry on top!

Overall, one of my favorite courses in the area!

The layout itself doesn’t make it challenging however, the rough is so bad that you can literally lose your entire club face in it let alone a ball!

Gorgeous scenery, immaculate greens, and tee boxes, stunning fairways and scenery!

I live closer to other courses but this is my go to. The course is in great shape. The pace of play is great and has a great layout.

The course was in good shape as always. The pace of play was great and the price was great thanks to the hot deal!

There was an accident on hall Street there was no access to the course except for the back that took an extra hour, and they still allowed to play and found a threesome for me to join up with. We had a great day and it just goes to show you how if you just put a little effort in customer service goes on the way I can’t wait to play this golf course again strictly because of that.

Pros:

Exceptional Conditions and Hole Routings!

Great Pricing and Fabulous Practice Areas.

Tees, Fairways and Greens were Lush & Green.

Cons:

Slow Greens... like Stimp@8.

Keeps them alive, but we missed several bird putts short.

Despite very good grooming, the Bermuda 2nd Cut Rough is over 3 inches deep and you WILL LOSE EVERY ERRANT BALL.

But, everything else was a Ten..
