Black Mountain Golf & Country Club is conveniently less than a half hour from the Las Vegas Strip, but you would think it was much further thanks to the stunning backdrop provided by the Mojave Desert. Set amid majestic mountains and beautiful desert vegetation, the golf course offers one of the most unique experiences in the Las Vegas Valley. The 18-hole golf course is comprised of two distinct nines: Founders, the original nine built in 1957 and Horizon, which opened in 1963. The course opens with its own version of Amen Corner, a challenging trio of holes that will test even the most skilled golfers. Black Mountain Golf & Country Club's back nine is more open than the front and also has more birdie opportunities. There are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides on both nines and water hazards also come into play.

Great Comdition
After reading some reviews of this place I was hesitant to play. I am very glad I did because the course is in great shape and would play it again.
nice, long course
great conditions, pretty long course. great views all around. everything in really good shape
For the price the golf course was well worth playing
Overall condition of course was good, the greens were excellent in they were faster. the overall challenge of the course was just about right not too easy but tough enough. The length of the course wasn't too long especially if you play from the right tees for your ability. Did not have to wait, the course was wide open on weekday at 10 a.m. tee time. Would definitely play again.
retired computer operations analyst
had a great time. started right on time. the only glitch was that our threesome caught up withe foursome playing in front of us at the 4th hole and they were extremely slow and did not let us play thru.
Great Condition
The Tee boxes and fairways are in best shape I've seen in 30 years! The greens are very tricky and hard to read.
Good value from golf now
a nice course for the average player. Just enough hazards to make your play interesting. Pace of play for a Friday late morning was steady, little or no waiting.
Summer fun
I played horizon and flounder. It was a very good experience. The fairways were great and the greens smooth and quick enough. Water was plenty on the course. The staff was terrific.
Great local course
Excellent shape with friendly staff. Greens are challenging and the pace was quick. Goo practice facility!
Black Mtn. Horizon/Founders review
Good course. Not a great value unless you live in the Henderson area. Not much elevation change and the rough was mowed; it played just like a country club. The greens were pretty well bunkered. Played on a Tuesday and the kitchen closed at 4:00, a little disappointing as we wanted to eat and go back out. Would go back, but would have to be a better deal than what we paid this time.
Good for the Price
Overall experience was good, played single with a couple small groups in front of me. I finished in just over 3:30 and was never pushed. Majority of the course is in good shape, greens seemed to roll good. Biggest gripe is this is the least/worst marked course I've played. No yardage help besides the fairway sticks on the boundaries. My GPS was not charged and made for some missed distances. There aren't even USGA markers on the blue tee boxes for the par 3's so it took some massive pacing and guessing to come up with yardages. How hard is it to mark a tee box and a few sprinklers up the fairway??? I paid $35 for the round and felt it was worth it, just remember to bring a charged GPS next time!
This course had an interesting design.
This course surprised you due to it's design. Some challenges on the drive and really fast green. It was an enjoyable course.
Thunder and Lightning
First time at the course, and we hit a tremendous lightning storm right overhead. However, between dodging downpours, etc, we enjoyed the course and had fun. The layout wasn't too challenging, and it definitely needs some TLC, but overall it was worth the money!
Chicago player
Played at 11:00 got off on time the fairways and greens were very poor. Looked like the course spends more time to make tee boxes green and lush verses the fairway and greens that really matter. Paid 74.00 per person for the round was a 35.00 course at best.
over priced
course was not in good condition sand traps were as hard as a rock fairways had lots of weeds and the greens were slow way over priced there are better courses in the area for less money
Fair, but won't pla it again.
I have to say that all the other reviews are spot on for this course. Needs water, water hazards are just sewer ponds, no water in ball washers, cart guy is rude.
With all the other great deals on courses, this one isn't worth the trip. Four young guys jumped ahead of our twosome on the turn, and slowed the pace of play to a standstill. When we complained, no one did anything. It seemed as though they were locals, and could do what they wished, Once again, no marshal ever. What is with the courses in Vegas? Don't any of them have marshals?
Blk Mtn
Not bad, greens in good shape, most fairways need more wate. Cory the cart attendant/ starter for that day was great.
the course is supurb!
Everything about this CC is five star. The staff is friendly, helpful, and genuinely appreciates customers. The course is well designed and very well cared for. Greens are fast and honest. If I Lived nearby I would certainly play here often!
Gorgeous scenery at Black Mountain
Played course on April 17th, weather was 75-80 F with no wind which was perfect. Staff were very friendly and paired me with someone who knew the course. Fairway conditions were average, but that's OK with the water situation - I don't think it would be acceptable if they were overally lush. The greens were firm, but good which is more important. The scenery was much prettier than expected and I would definitely go back.
Nice course!
The facility was in great condition for a municipal course and the day was perfect for golf. Pace was a little slow by a group in front of us but overall the experience was great!
Black Mountain
The course was average shape. Pace of play was normal. Lack of garbage cans on the course. Greens were fast in good shape. Fairways were patchy at times but overall good shape. Driving range was hard to tell distances. Would recommend for the price. This course is not a five star so do not expect that.
