The Club At Viniterra
About
Situated between Richmond and Williamsburg, the Club at Viniterra sprawls across abundantly wooded hills. There is no shortage of elevation changes on this Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead-designed golf course. There is a difference of as much as 70 feet from the tee to the green on most of the holes. When combined with the mature trees, the result is a tough layout that demands accuracy. Thankfully though, there are not many water hazards to contend with but there is strategically placed bunkering throughout. The golf course also provides a scenic round with working vineyards running alongside the lush fairways. In addition to being challenging, the Club at Viniterra prides itself on their environmentally sensitive practices. The golf course saves as much as 80 percent of the water used on traditional courses thanks to the use of a drought-resistant grass hybrid.

Golfer Reviews
Excellence Every Time!!
Between this course and Royal New Kent, they're simply the best courses anywhere!
Great course lay out
I would like to see a little more sand in the traps
Under repair
This was a very solid course with fast greens and friendly staff. There was a whole lot of construction going on into the place around cart paths whole lot of driving on gravel etc. but other than them doing a facelift for the future the course itself was spectacular.
This was an excellent choice!
Played here as a last minute replacement to try and avoid wetter forecast down in Williamsburg. Price was better and the course wound up being perfect! Staff extremely friendly. Pace was awesome. Conditions were great, and the layout is loads of fun, not boring at all! Elevation, changing widths of the fairway, doglegs, great geens, this had a great collection of everything, yet still very playable for differing skill levels. Totally recommend!
Beautiful course Aggressive Ranger
Our group was playing at a 2 hr. 9 hole pace and the ranger kept asking us to pick up the pace. He said there was a hole and half empty ahead of us. Not our fault. He made it very unpleasant most of the front. I felt very rushed. Could not play any faster. I have played there multiple times and that the first time it has happened.
Very nice course, clueless ranger
The course deserves a higher rating. Our round was made less than desirable by an overly aggressive ranger who kept telling us to play faster because there was open space ahead of us stating that "no one wants to play a 5 hour round". It should be note that we played the front nine. In 2:04 and the entire 18 in 4:10, a reasonable time for a foursome. This ranger needs basic trading on how to interact with people.
Course in great condition
Course was in excellent shape especially since we have not had any measurable rain in two weeks. The people in the pro shop were very friendly. We had a marshall that was on us for slow play but our group played as a foursome and finished front nine in two hour and total round in just under four hours. He was more focused on us than other groups. I know that it is important to have marshalls on the course to keep the pace flowing but when you are being constantly reminded of being behind, it takes away from your game as he more focused on us rushing.
Feels like your own personal golf course
Every aspect of the course has been top notch. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and the greens have been well maintained.
This course is “top notch” and play again and again. Course layout is challenging for all levels. Kudos! To all!
Great course
Beautiful course that balances playability and challenges
Good course
The layout changed a little since the last time I played. Some spots were wet but did not effect play. Sand traps were in good condition and the greens were a little fast
Great Course
Course was in fantastic condition. The greens were FAST - always love to see that. Staff was super friendly - and the starter is fantastic.
Also have to commend the condition of the driving range. Was a real joy warming up on that range this morning.
Will be back!
Could play this course every week
One of the best layouts in the entire state. Greens are very fast and in super shape. Can’t go wrong playing at Viniterra. Top notch track and very tough from the blue tees. It will test every shot you got.
We loved the course but unfortunately the weather made the course very wet. A lot of standing water throughout but the greens were excellent and still quick. Can’t wait to play it again in dry conditions.
gREAT course
Even th Hough Bermuda not in (thank you) fantastic course never see another hole till 18 course designer was a GENUS big fast greens
