The Club At Viniterra
About
Situated between Richmond and Williamsburg, the Club at Viniterra sprawls across abundantly wooded hills. There is no shortage of elevation changes on this Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead-designed golf course. There is a difference of as much as 70 feet from the tee to the green on most of the holes. When combined with the mature trees, the result is a tough layout that demands accuracy. Thankfully though, there are not many water hazards to contend with but there is strategically placed bunkering throughout. The golf course also provides a scenic round with working vineyards running alongside the lush fairways. In addition to being challenging, the Club at Viniterra prides itself on their environmentally sensitive practices. The golf course saves as much as 80 percent of the water used on traditional courses thanks to the use of a drought-resistant grass hybrid.

Golfer Reviews
Good value
Played here for the first time and looking forward to returning when spring arrives. Greens were recently aerated and should improve with better weather. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Pace of Play
The course was very crowded. When I went to first tee box, there were another group waiting so they were slightly behind times. It took 2and1/2 hours to play 9 holes so we quit. There was no MARSHALL on the course to help speed up play. Will NOT go back!
Best course in the area
Played here for the first time yesterday and was blown away. The course is in amazing shape especially for this time in the season. They have 6 tee boxes (I think) in every hole, many of which change the way you should play it so it’s really as challenging or easy as you want it to be. The course is beautiful the whole way through and a ton of fun to drive through. It is very, very long so I don’t think I would ever walk it but I don’t mind that.
Only complaint is that some of the in between cart paths are still gravel but that’s really it! For the price I haven’t come across anything remotely comparable within a 50 mile radius.
Frost delay
I have played here many times. I have never been overlooked by a starter on a frost delay but it happened this day. Supposed to go out at 1020 was told there was frost delay. No issue. By 1130 I went to starter to find out what was going on and he had sent my group out already! Thankfully a 2 some was going off at that moment that I was able to join. Starters should be instructed to call ALL names in a random pairing and not just the first name. I have played here many rounds and will play many more.
keep this course in your regular rotation
Young man in shop has a excellent accommodating personality dealing with the public
Outside cart msn was really grumpy with a poor personality...
Course is a great test...You will use all the clubs in your bag...

solid course; great layout
Played afternoon round. Very easy to get around. Course is tough but fair.
Worth the 2 Hour Drive!
The course was in amazing condition tee boxs and fairways were excellent and the greens were true and quick! Defiantly a challenging track lots of elevation change and deep greenside bunkers and LONG if you play the back tees.
Great golf challenge!
This course will challenge every part of your game! Must play!
Great layout and challenging
Viniterra golf course is a wonderful layout with many tee box options. For those with a low handicap it’s a daunting experience to those with a high handicap it’s a fun course!
Great staff with a new clubhouse that offers great breakfast sandwiches to delicious sandwiches at the turn. Once round is over relax on the back porch and see a few holes.
Never been disappointed no matter the season!
Enjoy a great course close to Williamsburg without the “Williamsburg price”!
Challenging and in great shape
Lots of rain lately, fairways pretty wet but a dry patch was always close. Plenty of grass kn the fairways and greens are n great shape. Well hit balls are almost always rewarded! Staff was super nice and accommodating.
Wet from rain, cart path only
2nd time playing here, it's a great track! Knocked off a couple stars because it was so wet. This is not a walkable course (distance from green to tee) and is not very "cart path only" friendly. These attributes are also one of the reasons this course is so beautiful.
Greens are n excellent shape and were recently aerated!
Staff was super friendly and accommodating, allowed me to start on the back because the 1st Tee was backed up - it was about 745 AM.
