Glade Springs Village - Woodhaven Course
About
Surrounded by the hills of West Virginia, the Woodhaven Course at Glade Springs Village looks out across the Glade Creek Gorge. It has a unique design with two distinct nine-hole loops, one that overlooks the gorge and tumbles across a series of swales and one that winds through a narrow valley, twisting through mature forests filled with maple, beech, hickory, and oak trees. Natural rock gardens and colorful rhododendrons add even more beauty to the course. One of the toughest holes is the par-4 eighth, which calls for a carry over a ravine. Though the playing area is wide, the hole sharply doglegs left and features a difficult second shot no matter how much you can cut off the tee.

Great course
Everything was beautiful and in excellent condition. Very difficult course but fun to play. The only negative issue was they are going through some type of law suit with Glade Springs Resort and because of this the restaurant was closed.
Wonderful Trac
One of the most interesting and challenging courses I have 3ver played.
The staff and course conditions were A1.
Great Course
Beautiful mountain course. Great rate on Golf Now. A little wet from recent rains. No food in the Clubhouse due to legal issues with the POA but a great round of golf. We will be back!
great staff, better course
had the course to ourselves, great condition, every hole was gorgeous. staff was super accomodating and let us leave after nine to grab lunch before playing the back nine. well worth the drive
Beautiful
Beautiful course. Great staff. Would definitely play again
Tough but friendly
Requires every shot but can be a very rewarding track.
Woodhaven
Excellent conditions with large, receptive greens, tough layout with many blind shots, local knowledge is very helpful. Worth its reputation as #5 in the state.
First time playing this course
What a great experience as this was the first for the guys that I travel with to play golf in different states. Three of us were from Ohio and one from Virginia. The course was in excellent shape and the views on various holes were spectacular. If we get back to playing in WV again, this would definitely a course that I would play again.
The only downside was that they did not have any drinks in the proshop or have a grille.
Incredible golf course
I have golfed since 1969 and this is by far the best course I have ever played. Not only that it was the cheapest I have ever payed for a quality course and the best part was my wife and I had the whole course to ourselves. Not a soul on it but us. I will definitely play it again when I am in that neck of the woods.
Excellent condition
Other than a couple spots of ground under repair the course is in phenomenal shape for early April. I was surprised to see how much excellent it was.
Fun for all
The course is a hidden gem for the price. The course has a few wet spots but that’s to be expected this time of year. It has some holes that require shot placement but is fairly forgiving overall. The only thing this course lacks is a clubhouse with food and drinks.
A must play if you’re in southern WV!!
First and foremost, this is the Dr Seuss of golf courses. It will have you shaking your head more times than not and you’ll likely need a tour guide the first time you play it. But with that being said, I freaking love it here! The course is always in amazing shape from the greens to the tee boxes, and the fairways are plush enough to make you feel guilty for every divot you take. The first 2 holes are just easy enough to tease you into thinking that you’re going to have a laid back, casual round and then hole 3 brings you back to reality just in time for hole 4 to leave your scratching your head as soon as you step on the tee box. And it doesn’t stop there. There are plenty of notable holes you’ll want to grab a picture of just because you can’t put them into words and do them justice. Holes 8 and 18 will be the true tests to see if you snap a club or two. I know all of this seems overwhelming and not like a fun round but I promise you it’s an absolute blast to experience. Grab some buddies or get paired up with some locals and just enjoy everything Woodhaven has to offer. The clubhouse staff is always awesome and Matt F. is always a great host for the round. It may not be for the faint hearted or new beginners, but I guarantee it will be memorable and you’ll want to bring others just for the experience!

Great shape
Been a very wet summer but the greens rolled very well and the fairways drained. The course played longer than the 6500 yards listed due to soft well kept fairways.
