Great
First ever 18 holes, loved it but was pretty hard for me
Fabulous views
Hilly start with lots of blind shots up fairways without seeing green. Recommend a buggy for old guys like myself but fabulous challenging lay out.
great for the price
I only paid £10 with Hot deal so I can't complain. Course is fine, quite hilly in parts, fairly long par 4s, testing par 3s. Greens could be better as they're quite rough. More sand required throughout the courses bunkers. Obviously all relative to price paid so if I'd payed full amount I'd be disappointed but for a tenner, hey.
Spot on
Brilliant course. Greens were a little patchy and bumpy, but time of the year is to be expected but still absolutely playable. First time played here, will definitely be back again.
Top notch.
Rough is rough stay out you won't find your balls ,course played great , very dry ,greens a little bumpy but absolutely loved the lay out !
Nice course
I recommend that if your not good walking up some of the hills I would you hire a trolly, but that doesn't take away from the course which I very much enjoyed playing, if I have one criticism information regarding competitions should be on tee sheet so you don't have to follow them for four hours
Mountain goat
Really enjoyed my game , course was in excellent condition, first nine very hard on the legs would please a mountain goat , back nine wide fairways, would recommend but let people know about the first nine .
Mountain goat .
First time playing here , first nine holes very hilly it would be ok for a mountain goat , but in very good condition , back nine we're a pleasure and in excellent condition , will play again, but not for a few weeks , so my legs can recover , before and after staff warm and friendly.
Great golf, bargain price
Course was in great condition and offers a good test of golf, with views out over the moors and to the coast. New clubhouse impressive and great service. I have paid much more money for much worse golf in the UK - give it a try!
friendly club
needed to tee off early due to other commitments and my booking was changed without hassle. -as I was standing in the club shop. weather was heavy rain by the 11th but the course drains well so it was not an issue on the greens .it is a hilly course at times but this helps with the views and challenge. recommend anyone who hasn't played it , to try it. not sure the new club house is fully up and running for full meals yet,but they do sandwiches for sure.
Decent track
Enjoyed my 1st round here. Ensure you have the correct postcode as my sat nav took me to a housing development.
I take it the layout has changed recently as my app scorecard didn’t marry with the holes but never the less was an enjoyable round.
Fairways and greens in good nick.
Front 9 is quite tight, tree lined and relatively short where the back 9 opens up and is a lot longer.
For 12.50 it’s a bargain
Work still in progress at Alnwick
Overall Alnwick GC is a good course with an interesting layout , excellent new facilities and is full of potential. However, sadly during our visit most of the putting greens and some of the aprons were heavily degraded in places to the extent that significant remedial attention is required which may involve stripping the existing top soil and re-seeding from scratch. Course management need to get the matter in hand urgently as the condition of the course is currently eclipsed by most others in the area. Note for visitors: the 8th and 9th holes include a severe incline which could be a problem for anyone with mobility difficulties.
Slow play annoys
Got stuck behind a four ball who refused to let us play through despite amble opportunities. Unable to finish round. Course in good condition as were greens. few blind holes
A great course.
Course has changed since I last played there. Easy to follow holes as well signposted. green in very good condition. Great value for money. Friendly Northumberland welcome. Better post round amenities than before
