Ashton-on-Mersey Golf Club

We took a chance with the weather and unfortunately the course had to be closed as we approached the 9th hole! In spite of that, we really enjoyed the course and the staff were generous enough to offer us a free ticket to play again. It is not a long course but it is quite narrow and very well maintained.

Had a nice time playing 18 here. The bookings were a bit cramped together though and had some elderley gents in front of me who didn't want to let me through for some reason. The last hole is epic,. Decent course to check out

The 9 hole course was very interesting and quite challenging to play. The only thing that let it down badly on the day was the condition of the greens. They had been recently hollow tyned and was heavily sanded. This made putting farcical. This was not mention by the pro in the shop or on the website. Notwithstanding the greens, the experience of playing the course was very enjoyable and I would certainly play it again when the greens are back to normal.

Played this course many times never had any cause for complaint. Only played 16 this time as 2 holes were closed for maintainance (has to be done sometime)

Every thing about this course is first class, highly recommend, Especially members, great day out.

Played last Friday at 3pm, staff were great with me as it was my first time playing, course layout was great and maintained well. Only issiue was some of the greens were a bit sandy but we've had a bad summer so can be excused, they were still

In good condition. Going round twice was great with the tee changes. Overall a great club and course will be playing regularly here.

Testing but good. Little hurdles all round like bunker layout and streams oh and lots of trees most of which I now know intimately. A really enjoyable course.

Only reason for 4/5 stars is that it’s a 9-hole course (though they have tried to mix up tees to vary back 9).

Only 9 holes but very interesting. Greens in great nick for this time of the year. Really enjoyed playing here, which is why we went back for a second time

Got here, pro shop close, played anyway and after 9 holes shop still close, finish another 9 holes shop open checked in went for drink but bar close. Guess got here on bad day.

Great 9 hole course with several challenging holes. 8th is signature hole, different tee boxes on several holes adds good variety. Club house really smart with great view from veranda. Definitely worth a visit!

A gem of a course, wanted to play here for ages and it didn’t dissapoint , all round great experience indeed

Don't let this 9 hole course put you off. This is a class track. Well known for perfect greens. Interesting holes and a total yardage of over 6000yds. Good on price and is the classic little gem

On arrival the Pro in the shop was really helpful and friendly, nothing was to much trouble even though he was jetlagged from a trip to New Zealand.

The course was in excellent condition considering the rain we had had previously.

The green keepers were doing their best to pick all of the falling leaves up to make play more enjoyable.

We ventured into the clubhouse for refreshments and food but unfortunately they were not serving food on that specific day.

Overall the day was fantastic and we would definitely consider revisiting.

Friendliest welcome at any teeofftime course so far. Free use of trolley. Course quiet. Only nine holes otherwise would be 5* all the way.
