Unkept weeds

Pricey for the condition of the course

Fairways not maintained. Mainly weeds and moss.

Greens a little better but lots of weeds and moss making up the green.

Only real difference around the course is the length of grass. The quality from rough to green wasn't much different.

Teeboxes are terrible.

Bunkers are more grit than sand, walls not maintained.

Water hazards partly finished.

Layout was good, quiet and pace of play was good.

Tidy course, good value

On arrival at 5pm, it was all shut up but the locals helped me and it was easy enough to work my way round.

Nice course, very reachable Par 4s and 5s. Some good corners to cut across to make it shorter, need a members knowledge here. Nice fairways, some forgiving some not so much. Well placed hazards makes you think. Greens were nice and consistent if a little slow for mid summer.

Made my first eagle ever, fond memories for life.

Will return!

Deceiving photos

The photos of the course made it seem like it was to a good level on their website. Not sure where they got them from as there was no difference between a fair way, a tee box and the greens. The ball shouldn’t bounce in different directions whilst putting! Such a shame as there is so much land there and the course could be great with a little love. I would guess it’s only really there for local members who enjoy the occasional knock about and for people holidaying in the lodges. Probably wouldn’t come back even for a deal.

Greens have been sorted!

Now the greens have been tidied and roll nicely, the course is genuinely really enjoyable to play. Not too tight around the fairways but sloping greens are challenging. Really enjoyable and really friendly staff in the clubhouse

Cold weather
Walked

Great layout, bad greens.

I actually really enjoy this course, it feels like good fun, but honestly the greens are really poor. If it was £10 a round then fine, but even on a hot deal it's £25 and that seems too much. You can play Wensum for £10 on a hot deal and that's immaculate. Needs some care and to be priced better, and i'd be coming here more often.

Very enjoyable visit

I was a member here many years ago so was interested to see how it has evolved. The course layout Is very good and interesting. The greens appear to be suffering a bit but it’s noticeable that they are being treated.

All staff encountered were very friendly in the pro shop and in the bar.

Still needs some work.

After the difficulties, it has definitely improved but still needs some work. Lots of tee boxes are patchy and very unlevel. Greens are very slow due to needing a cut. It's a shame as the course is very well laid out. Still has potential, just needs an injection of money.

Greens need some serious attention

The course layout etc I’ve always said is amazing it’s just a shame the greens are the way they are if these was up to the standards of other nearby courses I’d 100 be a member here.

Interesting

One of the best laid out courses I have played locally (5 star) but having lost their greens a couple of years ago the new greens are not up to standard, if they were better would change clubs tomorrow.

Improved from last visit

The greens have much improved since my last visit although in need of a cut. The rough has been trimmed which improves pace of play. Friendly staff as always and facilities are good but woeful practise green and course bunkers in need of some sand. Overall a pleasant round of golf.

Greens/ bunkers

My issue with the course is the greens they need attention in need of cutting.

Bunkers don't have enough sand and what sand there is, is like hitting concrete at times.

Other than that a lovely course to play
