Some nice holes

Some very interesting holes, however holes 3 - 7 there was a lot of cross over and potential of been hit by a flying golf ball.

The greens weren’t in good condition, very slow, bumpy and missing grass in many sections.

The pace of play was slow. Thankfully, a very kind grandma & grandson pairing invited me to join in with them to improve the pace. If you’re reading this review, thank you again!

4.5 hours for the round.

I would play again, however there are better golf clubs available locally.

Tricky and Testing Course

At times you feel like you need your hiking boots and there are some testing holes throughout the course. There aren’t many major obstacles, but it gets exposed to wind, which makes for a really tricky afternoon. Greens play really fast too. Overall, it’s a course you have to think your way round.

Unable to attend

Sadly I was unable to play due to illness. Was really looking forward to it. I'm sure the course was in great condition. It's a shame my booking was non refundable .

1st day back after lockdown

Overall the course played short, it was nicely laid out with tight fairways and enjoyable to play. On the day it was very very windy and you are exposed to the elements and by the time we got to the 14th we were busted. Only downside was greens had been hollow tyned and were very sandy and woolly. Enjoyed it though and a would play again! Today in fact!

Woukdnt grumble if was told its only 14 holes in the winter

Was not stated that its only 14 holes over the winter. Advertised as 18 holes when paying! Fairways and greens were good for time of year and nice winter tee boxes. Played this course in the summer and was in very nice condition.

Really good, considering conditions and Covid-19

Considering the amount of rain there has been it was great to find a course that kept 14 holes in play and only two temporary greens. The main greens were first class for winter conditions. The only reason for 4 stars overall is because of the 4 closed holes and unfortunately we couldn’t use the club house due to restrictions.

Angry

If we know they where treating the greens we would have not played.

The problem was they where treating the greens but nobody was picking up the pellets of turf off the greens.

We had to putt through them.

Not impressed with the management of this club.

Crook

Although it was a perfect windless, sunny day, it had been raining heavily the previous night. Course was in very good condition, very lush fairways and surprisingly fast greens.

The course was very quiet which gave us a clear speedy round.

For some reason the clubhouse was closed.

Great condition - slow play

The staff were great, other players on cause excellent. However the dreaded arrogant old ladies 4 some refusing to let anyone play through. The pace of play was unacceptable!!!

Myself & other three groups were sat down on tee box & fairways waiting on the group.

Lovely course

Great course with some really tricky holes.

The greens are fast and true but they are also the hardest part of the course with most incorporating heavy slopes and undulations a real challenge.

Test

Nice course with some interesting holes. Very hilly and undulating, and you need to be reasonably fit to get round. I enjoyed the round.

Quality greens and Friendly Club shop

Crook isn't the longest course but it makes up for that with great views, tight lines, up and down walks and quality, fast and true greens. As a golfer you have to think your way round this course, no real opportunity to smash and grab. A great day out for the visitor and a good test of golf regardless of handicap. We'll be back.

Some great holes.

My first time playing here, will defiantly come back.

Best hole for me the 11th, 196 yards, awesome par 3, over trees in a small valley and I birdied it.

Greens are immaculate and fairway are good.

Staff and golfers in the pro shop very friendly.
