Day out
Arrived at the course an hour early to be advised our booking through tee off times had only gone through this morning and that our time had been taken. They squeezed us on but had to be be straight away so couldnt warm up.
Great condition
Played the Aylesford course early afternoon as belfry was unavailable due to masters weekend. Got a great price at £27.50 and coupled up with another 2 brothers of similar age. A fantastic day with golf to match. Great course conditions despite the the lack of moisture. Green lush, receptive and true. A great experience that I would definitely recommend to others
Definitely worth playing.
Very enjoyable, nice greens and I also saw a fawn.
This course needs a Marshall.
This is a decent course, but was spoilt by a 5 hour round and waiting on most tee boxes. A 4 ball were taking their time having laugh and hacking around, many holes behind the previous flight. As there are no Marshall's everybody else just had to wait. This may benefit beginners as they will be under no time pressure.
Not as good as expected
Arden has a very good reputation but we Played in heavy rain after a long dry spell so that didn’t help. I was not overly impressed. The course was ok but lots of muddy patches around. Half of the third green had no grass just mud, and there were many areas that seemed to lack basic maintenance. An added annoyance was that they use a yardage sheet for pin positions but didn’t have any available.
Very expensive in the bar.
Can’t see us returning.
Motorway golf
Nicely maintained and managed course with good facilities. Unfortunately most of the course runs along side the M6 so forget about a nice quiet round.
Also, the facade of a very upmarket golf resort was somewhat shattered by the state of the driveway!
Good course, very enjoyable
Very good facilities, good car parking, course in good condition apart from some greens a bit bare , value for money at £25
One of the worst kept courses I have ever played. Greens very patchy, bald spots, weeds. Tee boxes uneven very patchy. It goes to show that they only look after the Arden course. Would definitely not recommend this course and will not be returning here. Also prices are extortionate, £10 for 2 sausage batches and over £15 for 2 pints after.
Well kept.
Tee’d off at 10.50 on sunny Sunday and still got around in less than 4 hours, so good pace.
All fairways and trees etc well kept, with the course having a good mix of challenging and forgiving holes.
Only disappointment is that many of the greens are of poor standard and two are pretty much unplayable. The sand in some of the bunkers is also very hard, the 16th especially.
Once the greens are sorted out, the course is great value at the price paid and is still nice now, but these two factors take the shine off it a bit.
Well kept.
First time playing this course and got round in just over four hours on busy, hot Sunday, no complaints there. All fairways well kept, with good balance of challenging and forgiving holes. No greens up to standard I’d expect for this location but most playable. 2/3 greens currently in horrific condition. Once greens are repaired and brought up to standard course great value for the price.
Good alternative to the Arden
Played in the afternoon and very quiet, so very enjoyable playing at my pace which isn’t quick!
First few holes very conventional and predictable with obviously less features than the Arden
However gets interesting when you get to the second par 3 and after.
This is a great course for those with a high handicap
Good warm up if you are thinking of taking on the Arden later
Appalling condition
Played over the bank holiday weekend and it’s in a really poor condition. What could be a really nice golf course in picturesque surroundings is instead almost unplayable.
They’ve got a load of bunkers GUR with no sand in them and others with too much!!
The surrounds of the greens have massive bare patches where a load of grass has died.
Then the greens! Oh my, it’s like playing on a local council course, it looks burnt out in places with just big patches of dried mud instead of grass.
The fairways are ok but it seems like they don’t do much divot repair so areas of high footfall like on the par 5 11th become a minefield.
I don’t know what’s going on up there but not worth the money or time.
Very poor Greens
The greens were terrible, most had a lack of grass, not good for the price. Emailed the Club no response.
Not worth playing Aylesford
Greens awful, lots of black mud patches
They looked either diseased or like they had been scalped
They rolled true but any approach shots had no trackion with the greens
Very patchy around green
Right on rim of green it’s either bare or overgrown,
Tees and fairways were great
Bunkers great
Pace of play was dreadful
How can too courses on the same course be so different in quality
It’s like the Brabazon and the Derby as the Belfry
Nice course but…
Set up is fantastic, great views of the Championship course whilst driving in.
Staff were very helpful in the pro shop everywhere had a relaxed atmosphere.
Unfortunately the experience was let down a little by the poor greens. It does look like they’re trying to get them back into some shape. At £37.50 I’d expect better.
Greens poor
Most of the course was in good condition but the greens were brown and very patchy. The ball bobbled on the surface. It let the experience down considerably.
Aylesford
I was very pleased with this course. I would recommend.
Lovely course.
Great course to play. In a lovely condition. Great range of holes. No silly long ones which makes it more enjoyable as you have to think of where you want your ball to be, rather than just hitting long. Definitely going to play again and a great price.
very enjoyable experience
very nice course, a few holes tricky to find, could do with a map on scorecard ,greens in decent condition for time of year, would highly recommend
Aylesford Adventure
Arrived early and spent time using the practice facilities, decent range, good short game area and large putting green. Staff friendly in shop and at starters hut, weather was fantastic and we had no golfers immediately in front of us so got round course in good time, course was in good condition for time of year. Great round of golf!
