First time on course

Very friendly guys around the club area. Nice course layout and in good condition. Greens are good for this time of year due to the weather we have had.

Definitely play this course again.

Bridlepath 23/05/2021

Considering the ridiculous amount of rain and cold temperatures that we have had during May the course is in good condition with greens and bunkers especially well cared for – the condition of the course is a credit to the green keeping staff and reflects the hard work that has undoubtedly gone into the general upkeep. The course is relatively short but incorporates some changes in elevation, wooded areas and some tricky blind shots into raised greens which combine to make play interesting. Sadly there are a couple of negative points – our group and the group in front of us were held up by a very slow 4 ball which added circa 40 minutes to the round and resulted in some frustration – from speaking to others I understand that this is a regular problem - maybe some signage asking slow groups to “give way” at the bridle path would help with this - also visitors need to be aware that the access road into the course car park is very tight and is used by the general public for walking and cycling – it’s a bit dangerous especially so at the Ouse Burn bridge access road section which would be much improved if the bridge incorporated a pedestrian footpath.

Great course

Had a great afternoon playing this course, very helpful staff in the pro shop gave course advice before starting and a nice general overview.

Course was in great condition and a nice challenge without being off putting.

Highly recommend this course

Overcrowded and Slow Play!

I gave the 4 ball in front of me 23 minutes before stepping on to the tee box on the 1st hole (I tee'd off on-time). At this point, they still hadn't cleared the green (reachable with a drive) so I had to wait further to play my first shot. By this time there was a group behind who gave us 5 minutes before teeing off themselves (One reaching the green side bunker whilst I was stood on the green).

Took 7 holes before I was waved through. Despite being ready at each tee box - including a par 3 when they hadn't even hit their tee shots.

Once I did play through the groups in front were caught within a few holes. At one point 3 groups were playing one hole. An incredibly slow 3 ball, holding up a 4 ball, holding up 2 2 balls.

Speaking to members they commented on these groups being notoriously slow.

When I finished the queue to tee off was incredibly long. The club need to manage the tee off spacing and pace of play better.

Excellent course.

Third time playing this course in the last few weeks and I would thoroughly recommend it. Course is a great test and the normal greens are in great nick. Only let down were the 4 temporary greens which are a nightmare to putt on!

Nice little course

We’ve played here a few times now through Golf Now and it’s a decent little course. Greens are ok if pitch marks were repaired and the same applies to unraked bunkers.

Otherwise it’s somewhere we look for when booking and would happily play again

A forgiving course with a lovely 18th

A good if not relatively straight forward course.

Never found the greens to be anything but in good condition.

Great condition

Course was busy, however the speed of play and friendliness of people made it a very enjoyable day, the greens are amongst the best I’ve played this year in the north east. Great value for money and will certainly return.

Short but great condition

Fantastic round of golf, the greens were so true the fairways were in fantastic condition. The thing that let the course down was the bunkers, very little sand in them and some had weeds growing in them. Apart from that it was fantastic, the green keepers were very nice guys. They were telling us about how much work they’ve done on the greens and you could tell. Would definitely play there again and would also recommend it to others.

Played here a few times over the last month. Nice layout and course, greens fine. 16th tee box is a bit battered. Older fella in the shop is friendly. Some bunkers could do with sand and raking but it's like that on any course I play. Teeoff added a random to our 3baller but wasn't an issue.

Another visit to Gosforth

Played here again after enjoying my previous visit. I do like this course but the same niggles I had with it last time are still there!

I wish the greens were raked after use and even worse, REPAIR YOUR PITCH MARKS ON THE GREENS PEOPLE!

It’s a shame as it now makes me consider trying somewhere different!?
