Gosforth Golf Course 19.07.2020
Course very well presented and in good condition. Enjoyed the round and would happily play at Gosforth again. The only problem was circa 15 minute delay teeing off and slow play due to what I understand to be members ahead of us that had arrived late and teed off late. The course needs to have a rethink about allowing members to tee off late especially at busy times.
Gosforth Golf Club
Played a round with my son. First time here and really impressed with the clubhouse, practice green and waiting area near the 18th.
The course overall was really nice to play, not long and relatively straightforward
My only complaints would be the conditions of the bunkers as they were full of footprints and not raked. I carry my own as my golf club requires you to and I addressed my own despite being pointless. Also the number of unrepaired pitch marks on the greens isn’t something you like to see.
All in all though I’d happily play here again
Nice course greens were in great condition
Love this course went as a three ball didn't like it when they added a stranger to our three ball won't be back
Superb condition
Played at thos course many times over the years and it's certainly improved with nafurity and good landscaping. The greens are as good as any I've played anywhere in the world rhe past few years. All credit to the staff for presenting the golf course in such outstanding condition
A Cracker
I know the course well but fir various reasons hadn't visited for a few years. It was in fabulous condition, with the best greens I've played on in the UK for a long time. Great credit to.the club and green staff in presenting a course in such good nick. Look forward to visiting again soon.
Excellent
Highly recommended.
Temporary green on 2 but that's it.
Great, quick greens.
Last 4 or so holes are excellent.
First time player but already booking again
Very good relatively flat course
In very good condition to some in the area, good value for the money
Worth Playing
The Pro shop was been decorated, but still very tidy.
The professional was very helpful and friendly. The 14th hole was closed due to new drainage been put in. This did not spoil the game as the rest of the course was in good condition. There were some winter greens in use and were very playable . I would definitely go back as the course is getting better every time I have played there
Let Down
On arrival we were informed that they were vertical draining majority of greens, yet on website and on phone message, nothing was mentioned. Had we known we would not of paid £17 to play there. There was 11 of 18 holes on poor winter greens. Cant do nothing about the weather but course was really wet in places leading to a few plugged balls getting lost, along with balls getting lost amongst the piles of leaves.
On a slightly more positive note, the few greens that were on were pretty quick and honest. Greens staff weren't very courteous either. We were offered a return visit for £12 but looking at the website they do deals for a round and bacon sarnie for £13, don't think I'd get a bacon sarnie for less than £1 if I took up the £12 offer, bit of a joke really.
Fantastic course - won’t disappoint
Fantastic course - a good mix of of long and short holes. Each one has something interesting / challenging about it whilst at the same time being scorable. Quirky layout with crossing the Brancepath and enjoyed the use of the river on a number of holes.
Members, club staff and the pro all gave a warm welcome and were friendly throughout - makes a huge difference when playing a new course.
Will definitely return and highly recommend. One of the best I’ve played in the area for the course itself and overall experience.
Really enjoy it here, friendly and polite staff and some nice golfers too. Really love playing here
Great
One of the friendliest and welcoming courses we have visited. Considering the hot weather we have had the course was in first class condition with near perfect greens. Will definitely return
Fantastic condition
Played this course and the greens were Fantastic, so fast and rolling true.
