Dangerous play

I have played this course a few times unfortunately you have some people who are impatient and think it's fun to drive off before you are out of range won't be long before some one gets ingured this type of play needs to be addressed ie ban these people

Excellent course, well maintained, and a challenge. Much more needs to be spent on infrastructure, like signs to the next tee, that could be done very cheaply but would greatly enhance the experience.

Enjoyable course!

Played for the first time and managed 18 holes solo in 2 hours 45 mins. Really enjoyed course, fairways and greens in excellent condition with rough not too harsh on wayward tee shots. Greens provide good challenge and bunkers in an excellent state of repair compared to many other courses of similar price. Good selection of holes from a very long 550yd par 5 to a 250 yard par 4 which isn’t as easy as you would have thought. Really impressed and will play again

Tough day out for a beginner

The Positives- The staff I saw were very friendly and helpful. The course itself was in decent condition- only. A handful of squelchy parts underfoot, which is good considering the recent weather. The course flows fairly well, is reasonably signed (combined with the map on the back of the scorecard) and there is plenty of variation in the holes. Locals were friendly enough in passing, and the pace of play was around average.

Before I get onto the negatives, full disclosure- I'm a beginner who played badly by my low standards, which definitely affected my mood!

Negatives- Upon arrival there is no indication of where to go. The pro shop is tucked away in a barn type building (though it is nice inside). Fortunately I found a nice lady round the frit of the clubhouse who directed me, but I'd never have found it otherwise.

The main reason I picked this course was the promise of wide fairways- I didn't find this to be the case, considering my limited distance and accuracy off the tee. The rough for me was a little too harsh, even where freshly cut, and I lost a good few balls that should have been findable only a few yards off the fairway.

My biggest bugbear though was the state players left the course in. Some greens were an absolute minefield of pitch marks (though in the whole they played well), and parts of the fairways were full of divots- a better golfer than me would be affected by these.

Booking times a mess

Twice I've been on this course and twice I've been rushed to tee off by people booked in later than me, first time I arrived on time and there was a bunch of 11 seniors in the same group (good social distancing) booked in after us but already on the tee, felt rushed until the 9th hole as they left, the first time round the course it was in really good condition.

The second time, same happened again with the tee, we got there on time for our tee time, teeing off and theres a queue waiting for us to tee off already there instead of making them stick to the times that they booked for, got to the 6th hole and we were found to be waiting for 4 different groups of people to tee off, you cant enjoy your golf when you're waiting 15-20 minutes to tee off each hole, the course this time wasnt in good condition at all, I get it had been raining but still it was poor.

The booking times need to be more spread out as obviously its not working, seems they're more bothered about taking everyone's money than giving everyone a good playing experience

Gavin wood

Course was extremely wet and tacky. But was just about playable.

Course yes times are too close and should not be open when allowing a competition on. Waited 50 minutes on the 5th tee due to back up of players and groups. Called into club house to check if someone could see what was happening and told it’s just too busy all the way around. Asked for refund if we came off and told no. 6 hours to complete the round of golf. Groups were doubling up with each other to try and help. Social distancing rules not applying due to volume of players waiting between holes.

Slooooooow Round

This was the second time I’d played Hart Common and the course had held up reasonably well against the recent bad weather. However, the problem we faced, the same as the first time we played it, was the pace of play. You’d often have three groups waiting on the tee leading to a near five hour round for a three ball.

Pace of play

Hart common is a good course with some lovely holes. The only negative was a group in front. They held the field back to a point where there was 3 groups stood on the 4th tee. They did allow 1 group through on the 10th hole. Front 9 was just under 3 hours.

Poor

not my first time playing this course and every time I have ive been rushed from the first tea to the very last. Need to spread tea time out a little bit to alone the group in front attest get onto the next tea.

There was that meany groups trying to tea off and play that. When we got to the 6th hole there was a group of 4 a 3 a 2 then 4 followed by a other 2 al waiting to tea off. Someone called to club shop to say this need sorting. The respons was not on. Was told we are not sorting it and if u only play 9 ever though this lad had played for 18 your not getting your money back. So it took 5h to play 18 hole because off the waiting around. So to be honest stop craming everyone on at the same time just so you get your money then not sort the delay out. Not wirth £22

Staff members Rude!!!

Staff member who was in the shop in the morning was very rude!! Refused to let us tee off even though we were early for our tee and then let a four ball go ahead of us as he knew them.

Then abused by members on the course for slow play! 47 through 9 was our worst score in our 3 ball so that to me isn’t particularly slow! Overall terrible experience and would not recommend!

No refund

We play this course a few times each year. The last two times we managed 7-9 holes and the heavy rain flooded the greens which resulted in non playable conditions. Went to the club house to ask for some kind of credit but got told we played too many holes and 6 holes is max for any credits.Pity.. would like to come back and play more.

It’s an academy course you will get kids running back from the green to the fairway to replay shots under instruction of a coach. Their mums may also be shouting at them while they run around once the coach has left and they are still playing on the course. You will have to wait 3-4 strokes for the younger ones before you can tee off it’s very frustrating. They have to learn to play this is where they learn. You have been warned.
