Very Nice Course

This is a very nice course.

Not too taxing.

I play this course once or twice a year whilst visiting family and enjoy it every time.

Very poor tee times

Very disappointed in the tee off system. Went to play there yesterday for the first time as a 2 ball and had to walk off after 4 holes.

I think it was a junior comp that was being held. Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all but there shouldn't have been tee off times available for anyone to book behind them.

We played the first hole and then caught straight up on the 2nd. After the 2nd hole we was waiting 10minutes to take one shot.

Real shame as the course looked in great condition. Very disappointed with it being a complete waste of time and £22.

Little gem of a course

A lot of charisma and many a challenging hole which sets it apart from a standard golf course. This course has plenty of obstacles and will improve you as a player and better your standard with tactical thinking you need to deploy

Longest Round I have ever played

First off I will say that the course is in good condition and the greens are excellent, very quick and true, the source of the poor review is predominently the pace of play that i expereiced and the contributing factors.

My round on this day took 5 hours 15 mins, the longest and most depressing round of my life. It was busy as the course gets lots of visitors and we had to wait as the tee times were running behind but that doesnt excuse the length of time it took once tee'd off. Everytime we reached a tee there was three groups on the same hole, green, fairway and tee.

The main reason for the pace of play was the set up of the course, you would think the european tour was coming through to play the follwing week. The rough was ridiculous and i mean the first cut, it was 2-3 inches deep in some places, the penalty for being a yard or two from the fairway was severe, the deeper rough was half way up your shin at least. Every hole you could see had people looking for balls and hacking out, it made the pace of paly unbelievabely slow. If they have 50 cat 1 golfers on their membership who want it tough then fair enough but for a course that gets lots of visitors and beginners its just an ordeal. The course has lots of hazards, some tight holes and fast greens, its a challenge as it is without the rough being allowed to grow to that level, there was no need for it.

If you are a high handicapper i would phone and ask if they have cut it before booking or you will have a long, hard day

Immaculate greens, ridiculously slow members

Played hart common 4 times now, and every single time the play has been unbelievably slow with members in 4 balls showing no willing to let you play through. At least this round I managed to finish 18 holes as the last time I walked in after 9 as I’d had enough of waiting 10/15 minutes between shots. The course is in fantastic condition and is well worth the green fees... just make sure you’ve got nothing planned after your round as you might be out there a while.

Hart Common

This is a lovely course. It was my first time playing it and it offered a good mix of holes that you have to think about position, and holes you can go for.

The greens were in great condition and give a good mix of difficulty, a good approach shot is often needed to put you in a good position for your par.

I also found a hole by hole flyover on Youtube which was great.

The only minor negative was the pace of play was a little slow but we weren't in rush so didn't mind.

Too much value for money?

£10 per player Great British Sterling to play the course on a weekday evening as a 4 ball, what a bargain. Tee time booked for 5:44 - signed in the pro shop at around 5:30 to be told just follow out the group outside the shop... Looking over to the first tee two more groups were waiting to go off... not the best sign. Eventually teed off just after 6:00pm followed rather promptly by a two ball. Given the general slow pace of play and a number of 4 balls we were waiting on in front we made the decision not to let them play through. 7 holes in the two ball behind had come within inches of hitting members of our group twice! Failing to give any shout and then see what they had done wrong on both occasions, with no apology and telling us they couldn't believe they had hit it so far. Unfortunately at such good value for money this appeared to be the sort of clientele attracted to Hart Common. I am pretty far from a golf snob and love to play muni/bang for you buck courses as much as the next man, however on this occasion the village idiots rained somewhat on the parade. What a shame given the condition and design of the course. The greens were by far the best I've played in the area in recent weeks, given the weather we had had the were running extremely firm and true.

So, is Hart Common too good value for money? I would happily paid double or triple the amount to play this standard of course but given the blind eye towards tardiness and lack of golf course etiquette on display I would be hard pressed to part with my ten pound note again to play here.

PGA greens but slow play

For £10 the course is a steal, played by myself. FollowEd 2 members as first time on the course!! Turns out they’re playing in the sweep. Ridiculously slow!! But members infront of them and members 2 groups infront of them, were also in the sweep. 100% play the course again but just not a Wednesday if the sweeps on!!
