Haworth golf course
The course is practically flat which is good when buggies aren't available. No winter tees or greens on yet. Greens still in good condition. Fairways were pretty damp so playing off mud in places. After all bad weather the course wasn't in too bad a condition. It was very busy so the play was quite slow.
Great condition for the time of year, but not the most interesting course.
The course was well kept given the recent rainfall.
The heather around the bunkers is a nice touch.
The staff were all friendly, and the clubhouse is big and well furnished.
The course itself isn’t very interesting; very few memorable holes, a lot of overly long and straight par 4s, and a lot of back and forth holes.
Several green-to-tees are an unnecessarily long walk, to elongate the next hole, and this slows down the pace of play which, judging from the members we saw, is already pretty slow. It took us almost 4 hours as a two-ball - that is far too slow.
We got a good price and the course was well maintained, but it’s not somewhere we’d return to in the near future.
Slow
We hit the back end of a tournament who was 20 mins ahead of us to begin with, eventually they held us up from hole 10. Other than that was decent
Fantastic condition
Great course on a very windy day with a rain shower thrown in
All aspects of this course are excellent fairways greens
Semi rough even not a pick of rubbish or litter to be seen
Greens staff very friendly and must be great at thier various jobs to maintain a very high standard
Very enjoyable golf
Nice parkland course
Nice layout and course in very good condition especially the greens. Quick and true.
Friendly staff and a great clubhouse.
Pint of Guinness and Chilli loaded fries recommended.
Nice course
1st time in many many years been here and worth coming back. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Group in front at 1st tee, let us go before them sinc only 2 of us. Will definitely come back.
5 hour round
Course is reasonable condition but day ruined by visiting party in front. Sharing clubs, 4 people riding in a buggy and drunk!! Openly drinking cans of beer on the way round. Shouting and swearing!!
Course not policed by course staff.
Excellent condition
Course had been brought to a high standard after terrible months of rain
No litter well manicured fast greens ..just needs attention to bunkers which are compacted
Good course but slow play
Course was in good condition with the exception of some standing water / mud in some areas due to recent rain - layout is quite good for a relatively flat parkland course with some interesting holes - undulating fairways at the South West end of the course can be a bit frustrating to play on due to difficulty addressing the ball if you haven't been lucky off the tee. Our round took us a frustrating four and a half hours with our group and two groups behind us stood waiting on almost every hole (at one point we even noticed some people ahead of us playing as a five ball) - the club needs to look at introducing a clock for competitions and rejecting scores where players have taken say four hours plus to complete their round.
Great course even in the rain
Very grateful that staff at the course kept the course open despite heavy rain during the day. Early evening tee off time and the rain was still falling. After about hole 4 the waterproofs came off and we were doused in lovely evening sunshine. Quite a bit of water in puddles and some surface water on the greens - but despite that it was a lovely evening game of golf. Course in great condition, well maintained and lovely wide fairways. Look forward to paying again in dryer conditions.
Dry at last!
After months of rain, I waited for a few weeks for the course to be playable - and it was.
The only blemish is on a few of the greens where crows and magpies are pecking into the surface looking for leatherjackets which you are no longer allowed to prevent with sprays. I was going to criticise for pace of play, as I caught up with a 4 ball which had teed off 30 minutes before me, by the 5th hole. At which point, I joined up with a member to make up a 2 ball and the 4 ball suddenly picked up their pace.
Whilst a flat course, some interesting bunker features and becks which dissect fairways and are sometimes tricky to spot, make it a decent test.
