Nice course to play during the autumn/winter. Great during the summer.
3rd hole wasn’t on when we played yesterday due to maintenance. Didn’t spoil our day though,.
What a difference
What a difference 20 odd years make, it was once an open bland course not anymore quite a treelined challenge. Course in excellent condition considering its now november
Booking misleading
Booked this round online for 2 people only to find when we got to course that we had been joined by another golfer who we did not know !! .I feel this is totally inappropriate to us and the other golfer .I got no e-mail or anything saying this was going to happen.if the other golfer plays at a better standard it leads to delays for everybody !!!!!!
Excellent Condition
The fairways, bunkers and greens where all in absolutely excellent condition with the greens especially good. The course is forgiving off the tee but still challenging really good course.

Good course,easy walk!
A lot of wide open fairways to go for it, course in good condition,greens excellent.Loved that it was flat all the way,I'm not used to that.Only downside for me slightly lacking in variety compared to Tyne valley courses.Bar staff friendly and bar very impressive.

Very enjoyable round
First time at Heworth.Excelllent pro shop fully stocked.
A lot of space on most fairways to go and really hit the drives.Course in VGC and greens superb.Easy flat walk as well a bonus as I'm not used to this at my course.Played quite well but the par 3s caught me out.I smashed a drive at the long par 4 5th hole 260 yards that's mammoth for me.
A good day out for all of us.Topped of by couple of Caffreys in a very smart and comfy big bar.

Loved it
Had a great round on this lovely course for my 1st time playing it. Well laid out course with a good mixture of holes that has something for everyone. The Tees, fairways & greens were all in a superb managed condition, the rough was quite light but if you stayed off the fairly wide fairways you will pay the price on certain holes with thick bush & tree cover causing issues. Really looking forward to playing this beautiful course again, its definitely 1 of my favourites in & around the Newcastle area, man in the pro shop aswell was very polite & helpful so well done Heworth, great course & well worth the money
Pace of play
Avoid playing here on a tuesday or thursday morning as the vets play then and are extremely slow and do not let you play through
Heworth it.
Nice course, not too demanding to keep ball in play. Greens were fast but in good condition. Enjoyed the round. Bar and restaurant are very comfortable and Sunday lunch was tremendous. Definitely will be returning.
