Great course, excellent condition but beware of the “hot deal”

On arrival we gave our name, this was found for our 11:10 booking and another name read out too. I suggested that this was incorrect as there was only two of us playing, we were then told because we had booked on a “hot deal” that another two ball can be paired with us....complete strangers. Given the current global pandemic I would suggest this is a terrible idea, never mind the fact I booked a round of golf with one of my friends who has just started playing golf again, we had no idea the ability of the other two golfers we had been told we are to play with.

In the end, we allowed them to tee off and get away down the first allowing us to play in our two ball and thEm in theirs. Poor practice from an otherwise excellent golf course.

Great Condition with Superb Greens and managed Fairways

At 1st you may think the course seems a little flat, without many challenging holes - well that is definitely not the case. With bunkers well placed, tree lined fairways and dog leg holes it makes for a great round which rewards good shot choice. The lack of hills are great for those who struggle walking up steep inclines (like me with trouble in my right knee). The green staff have excelled and the course is in excellent condition. The fees are extremely fair, and I have paid more to pay on course nowhere near this standard. I will be going again.

Great Course

Very well looked after, greens in amazing condition and pub open. What's not to love for a nice day away from our usual course.

the course is flat but has distance

Well maintained course, you think its a bit easy with all the flat holes until the distance increases and then the course challenges you, 1-8 are easy enough tee to green but then the distance of holes increase and it makes it more difficult finishing with a 222 yard par 3. very good course if you do not like walking up and down hills.

Very surprising condition for time of year and recent weather

Played Heworth today because my own course was closed due to the awful weather, was not expecting much other than a knock about. Greens were incredible, smooth, quiet fast, not a temporary to be seen and nearly all were in great condition( impossible to be perfect ) Looking forward to playing again !

Great course in bad weather

First time at Heworth, course was in great condition, lots of different challenges for accuracy and distance, greens were true and smooth, played slow as it was very wet on the day. Friendly, helpful staff

Heworth golf club

Lovely club with good staff and members who pointed us in the right direction for starting. Professional in golf shop also very good. Only complaint and this is a small one is that I found course noisy as next to motorway and I am used to quiet courses.

The course itself is set up very well with a good selection of different holes. Course itself was in excellent condition and the greens were superb. I’m sure some of the tee boxes could have been set up as greens. I wonder who makes the 18 th over 200 yards par 3 after a long round.

Anyway a lovely game of golf and nice pint and sandwich to finish. Thankyou

Excellent course

A beautiful well kept course in great condition. Played here many times and its always been enjoyable, my only criticism would be the price! As i generally book through tee off times app ive been fortunate to pay only £16-18 per round, however a price tag on course of £25 for a non member is rather expensive in comparison to other courses in as good of a condition who charge considerably less. Saying that as long as i can book via hot deals online i will continue playing here.

Super track in great nick.

Not the most difficult course in the North East but a decent challenge for all levels of golfer. Fairways undulate, particularly the first few holes and the last few. Easy walking and the greens were in superb condition when we played. Absolutely superb welcome and the pro shop is an Aladdin's cave of great deals. Highly recommended.
