Heworth Golf Club

Another fantastic day out at Heworth GC.

Fairways were great, greens were lovely (v fast), and overall a course kept in very good condition.

Unfortunately bar wasn’t open, even the outdoor bit, so couldn’t rate amenities.

Hopefully will be next time, understand why it wasn’t this time.

Played at Heworth in a 4 ball, great course flat 95% of the course with just a couple of slopes but not as easy as youd think its going to be.

This was the first club I ever joined when I took up golf 15 year ago.

Stopped playing the game for years.. then only adhoc games.

If I was the ever get a membership again it would be here.

Course is always fantastic condition and it's the people here that make the club... always been super friendly.

Course water logged and not fit for play the course should have been closed

First time I have played this course , after raining all week I was a expecting a wet day but luckily the rain held off and it was pleasant experience some good challenging holes I will definitely recommend and come back great experience and the staff were great and friendly

A pleasure to play here despite very soggy conditions from overnight rain. Quite scenic and despite road noise from the dual carriageway, it’s a really nice place to play. Considering joining next year from my current club!

I’m only a beginner, but found the standard of the whole course brilliant. Rough, fairway, greens, all brilliant. Great course.

I went for a Sunday afternoon round. Can’t knock the condition, greens, fairways, bunkers and tee boxes were immaculate. I just thought the holes were a bit boring and the nearby road is busy and so loud in a lot of holes. I wouldn’t not go back, but I’d be looking for a cheaper price to be honest.

This is a fantastic parkland course with nice wide fairways, Great tee boxes and really great greens. Fairways are also well looked after. A real pleasure to play.

A very pleasant course with just a couple of small hills, nothing to worry about. Nice and open.

What a lovey course. Greens were in brilliant condition. Started off with some short holes then some very long testing holes. Highly recommended. Despite restrictions due to covid inside the clubhouse the bar staff were very accommodating.

Course in great condition back nine more interesting with some good doglegs only problem was after asking the pro if we could get food after our round he said it would be fine but on arriving at 3.50 we were told the kitchen shut at four and we were to late not good as we had a three hour drive back to Edinburgh apart from that we would play again

We chose not to rest the hospitality because of the current epidemic.

We were made to feel very welcome in the pro shop, our requested buggy was to hand, and the spaced out tee times were well managed.

Despite Autumn green maintenance, the course was in excellent condition and the maintenance staff very considerate..

There isn't a great deal of variation in the holes, and traffic noise can be obtrusive initially, but this is a course I'll return to whenever the opportunity arises.

A good day's golf made possible by excellent green keeping and front of house staff.

Tee's, Fairways & Rough were fantastic

Greens were a bit damp in small patches at the start due to the heavy rain overnight but nothing that actually affected the pins. They still ran quick which surprised me.

Overall just a great course in great condition
