Mick steel
The course was in a bad way, the fairways haven’t had a cut yet this year and all i could think was it was like a farmers field. Not one place what we could see had been cut. Only the greens were just about ok as they were full of moss.loosing balls on the fairways not good.
Need a buggy
Great course. a little boggy, but quite hilly. Good walk between several holes. I would recommend getting a buggy made life a lot easier.
Good, but paid full price with 2 holes closed
Paid full price with 2 holes closed. They should really discount if that's the case. Wouldn't recommend when windy also. Greens were in decent condition for this time of year (December)
A bit soft
I love this course, the layout and the challenges. However yesterday it was a little too muddy and I lost a couple of balls in the fairway due to plugging.
No 5 hole was closed due to this and the staff had prewarned us.
I love this course and will not be deterred from playing there again.
Golf trip
Played Hollins Hall 17 & 18 October and stayed over and I would thoroughly recommend it! Great layout with some spectacular views and the greens are a real challenge.
But probably the best experience was how friendly and welcoming all the staff were. From the bar & hotel staff to the the golf team who couldn’t do enough for us and made the break a really special experience!
Great couple of days
Thanks to Fredrick for a great stay, course was tough, some great holes, greens very tricky. Great service from hotel and golf course staff, be back next year.
Great Experience
Played over 2 days with a group of mates from my own golf club. Had a cracking couple of days, despite some wet weather the course held up well and it was a good challenge, the greens in particular were very demanding with some tricky pin positions.
The course has a great mix of holes with some particularly testing par 3's & 4's - and uses the fabulous landscape to full effect. The views across Baildon and surrounding areas were magnificent! This was all backed up by a very competent team in the pro shop from the pro Mark and starter Mark who also ensured our buggies were ready & waiting.
Off the course we had excellent service from the bar staff, waiters and catering. Our food was excellent and we had a fabulous GM Frederick who managed all our requirements without any fuss.
This course had some great views and feature holes, well maintained, good greens, the hotel and rooms were very clean. The staff were excellent and very friendly especially Fredric the Gm Jack & Mark the starters.
The food at the half way hut was excellent as it was at the hotel, the rooms were very clean. We had a party of 16 and not 1 of us had any complaint, in fact everyone commented on how friendly the staff were. The value for money was excellent, in fact I could not fault it at all.
Group Trip
Played 2 rounds 1 night stay,Excellent from start to finish, GM Frederick starters Jack and Mark and all the Staff were very pleasant and friendly, spacious room two double beds, evening meal and breakfast very good,Course challenging especially the greens, in good condition although wet due to very heavy rain the previous day, great half way house fantastic views,we had two days of good weather which was a bonus, value for money highly recommend.
Visited on a group trip and found hospitality excellent, staff were very friendly and facilities good. Quality of food and accommodation very good and value for money of whole experience was excellent. Weather preceding our visit was not kind and consequently the course was wet however it was a very good test of golf and in reasonable condition.
Had a really enjoyable time and will visit again.. many thanks to the Manager and staff who were superb and could not do enough to help our party of golfers.
Hollins Hall
Great venue ..the Hotel was tremendous and all the staff could not do enough for me. It was a pleasure from the food in the evening to the soup and pies at the halfway house on the course.
As for the golf course an absolute gem and challenging greens.
Overall I had the best experience all round and a perfect day once again the staff were more than helpful in every manner.
Hollins Hall
There were 16 of us on a mini golf trip, 1 night stay and 2 rounds of golf, this included bed and breakfast and evening meal. Service was outstanding the staff couldn't do enough for us and were led by a fantastic manager Frédéric, credit to the company and can't praise them highly enough. The food was excellent and the setting was welcoming. The course was in very good condition considering the amount of rain in the area over the previous few days. Overall a 5 star venue.
Don't bother, this course should be closed.
The course should be closed, the fairways are unplayable, it's just mud. Ball doesn't travel at all. I left after 5 holes, I should still be our there right now.
I know we have had a bit of rain, but I played Ben Rhydding on Sunday after some rain and the course was in brilliant condition. The only positive was the greens which were in excellent condition.
Frustrating to have paid for a round when the greenskeepers and staff will know that the course is in terrible condition.
Very poor fairways
Played during a reasonably October and the fairways were in appalling conditions, the pace of play also extremely slow
Great course
The course was in great condition considering the rain we had in the precious 48hrs.
Great layout but would have been nice if the halfway house was open.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely play there again.
Great course and Staff
Had a great afternoon of golf on a well looked after course, staff were extremely friendly, nothing negative to say
Can't wait to play again
A thoroughly enjoyable round of golf. I've been wanting to play this course for a long whole and finally got around to it. I was disappointed. The long walk up the hill to the first tee had me regretting, not accepting the lift up there. Apart from a stiff breeze, the weather was ideal. Beautifully laid out course that gets more challenging in the middle holes as they develop with the undulating terrain. 14th (The Viaduct) is a delightful signature hole. I got stuck behind 3 guys over the last 5 holes which then took well over an hour which left my concentration waning and 5 puts on the 18th. It took the shine off my scorecard, but not the day.
Good challenge for any golfer
It was a stunning day out, the course was very green and it played well. The greens were a little quicker than I'm used to, but sooner realised the better.
I used a quality golf cart to get round at a reasonable price. The staff were all friendly and approachable. I would recommend this course to anyone wanting a challenge
