Glorious sea views
Once again a very welcoming club offering a great value round of links golf. The course was in very good condition, has a good selection of holes and is challenging for golfers of all abilities.
I would recommend anyone to play here and if the weather's good the stunning sea views will add to your experience.
First time but will definitely play there again.
Arrived early for our Tee time went to check in and we’re told to tee off a soon as possible as course was quiet and rain due. Course and Greens in great condition especially after all the recent bad weather.
Definitely recommend a game here and will be back soon.
Ps. Special thanks to the Guy in the Pro shop. As we were driving out the Car park it started lashing down with rain and without the early start we would have been drenched.

First round of the year. Played here a number of times but this was the first time I have played the Dunes course configuration.
Greens where excellent for the time of year.
Course was well looked after, played the winter course just got abit lost trying to find the tee off on 9 and 10. Green keeper where they to help us. Pop into the bar after nice food and friendly staff. Great day out

The course was in its winter configuration and incorporated the 3 holes on the Dunes course.
All the greens where in play and ran smooth and fast.
A very enjoyable round.
Worth playing
Popped down to play here while staying near Alnmouth. Played early (8am) behind 3 members - round in under 2&1/2 hours. Nice welcome from the pro on arrival. Greens were cut that morning & rolling very well for the time of year (mid Oct).. A good links golf course which the wind adds a strong challenge to. Some great holes & a good mix of tough longer par 4’s with a few short ones too. The skyline is dominated by the former aluminium works at the far end of the course. £30 a head was good value for the quality of this underrated course. Pro came to check we enjoyed afterwards & a nice bacon roll in the clubhouse afterwards where all the members were very friendly.
Super links course
I don't play golf that often these days but playing a course like newbiggin yesterday had me thinking I should play more. Course was in immaculate condition with the greens and fringes particularly impressive. Probably 10 years since I last played up here so I'd forgotten the course layout - there are 14 par 4's which for me was great, none of which however felt the same, some challenging blind t-shots and wonderfully hidden greens which made each hole seem unique. Add to that some great views out to sea and a friendly welcome at hole 19 with an ice cold pint at a really good price - I'll be back soon!!
Challenging links course with good greens where you will need to know your lines
Excellent course
Highly recommend this course. Great layout and love the huge double greens!! Setting is fantastic by the sea. If you love links then this is worth checking out.
Avoid the rough
First time of playing the course and found it very tough. Excellent first drive down the middle of the fairway but it wasn’t to last.
The opening seven holes have the sea on your right and if you don’t hit the fairway you have punishing rough or the beach.
The course itself was in excellent condition with the greens particularly fast.
Colin, the pro was very helpful in setting us off.
Overall a tough test on an excellently prepared course, just a pity I couldn’t do it justice.

The course is in good condition with the exception of a few weather damaged areas and one green in particular which was a bit beat up and had been quite heavily sanded. The front nine follow the coastal perimeter of the course and are quite an enjoyable and scenic challenge with some blind approach shots over sand dunes into relatively small greens. The back nine are slightly less interesting and a bit nondescript in places – maybe the club could consider planting some hardy trees to give the area a bit more character and a bit of shelter around the greens? The green fee of £15 was reasonable for Friday afternoon golf. A couple of notes for visitors: The course is quite exposed to the elements – it’s advisable to check the weather forecast before booking. Also the entire course is open to public access – sadly during our round there were a couple of “likely lads” wondering back and forward – probably best to keep your clubs & valuables nearby at all times.
