Newbiggin 28/05/2021
The course is in good condition with the exception of a few weather damaged areas and one green in particular which was a bit beat up and had been quite heavily sanded. The front nine follow the coastal perimeter of the course and are quite an enjoyable and scenic challenge with some blind approach shots over sand dunes into relatively small greens. The back nine are slightly less interesting and a bit nondescript in places – maybe the club could consider planting some hardy trees to give the area a bit more character and a bit of shelter around the greens? The green fee of £15 was reasonable for Friday afternoon golf. A couple of notes for visitors: The course is quite exposed to the elements – it’s advisable to check the weather forecast before booking. Also the entire course is open to public access – sadly during our round there were a couple of “likely lads” wondering back and forward – probably best to keep your clubs & valuables nearby at all times.
Fantastic course spoilt by members
The course was fantastic a true links course. The only issue was my 2 ball was stuck behind a 4 ball for the whole round and they didn't offer to let us play through once wish was disappointing. However I would definitely return.
Nice Course
Nice links course but could have done with a guide for a couple of the holes
Good course
Good links course even in the winter after lots of recent rain.
An Absolute Pleasure
Played here a few times recently and learned something new every time. Loved plotting my way around the course and had plenty of fun putting from 50 yards in if a fancied it. Picturesque along the coast, with plenty of different and challenging holes that require plenty of thought.
Thurs 6th
I really liked this course and the ideal conditions.
Greens were fantastic and it's a clear course.
Just had some impatient players behind us who made us rush our round (I offered to let them through) but apart from that, I can't fault the course at all
Great day out
Really friendly welcome from the golf pro. Pro shop had plenty of the essentials you would need for your round. The course was in fantastic condition, and due to being a true links drained immediately after a few heavy downpours during the round.
The views of the Northumberland coast were superb. The course is relatively flat which was ideal for those who don't enjoy a hilly course.
Very enjoyable golf
Nice conditions, coastal breeze, course Was in good condition, rough was cut down keeping play moving, greens very good condition and very enjoyable round of golf, definitely recommend not the hardest but wind could make it tricky.
Excellent course in fantadtic condition!! Stunning
This was the first time i have played Newbiggin and wow, what a great course. The greens were in brilliant condition as were the fairways. Some of the holes are stunning and each hole is a different challenge. Planning on a return soon and contemplating becoming a member. If you haven't played this links course, give it a shot, its well worth it.
