Rude not to play Ruddington!

Excellent course something for every golfer. Straight holes, dog left and dog rights lots of trees water and hazards. Bunkers with different amount and types of sand so no two shots are the same. Short and long par 4s and 3s variety yes. Some mixed doubles comp on the day we played was a bit slow but weather was great and scenery is wow so minor issue!

Play it you won’t be disappointed!

Tough but fair

Played a few times here over last 20 years and rarely seen the course in such good condition.

Fairways running well and suitably punished if you missed them. Greens were almost impossible to get the ball to stick but ran true..

Only 17 holes open

Major drainage ditch landscaping going on at present on 18th. Best to play elsewhere if your looking to card. This was not stated when booking only on arrival

At pro shop. 👎 Slow Pace of play by two seniors in front of me didn’t help either but that’s golf. You can’t get passed seniors on courses a lot nowadays they just don’t yield. The saving grace was the 19th. Food is good and so is the banter. 👍

For the money at the moment it’s the best course we’ve played by far. The greens are amazingly fast, bunkers raked and fairways well groomed. It’s a bit soft underfoot on a couple of fairways, but nothing to worry about. Great Course…

Not at it's best today. A shame.

Ruddington usually offers a friendly, fun and enjoyable round. Sadly, we did not enjoy it today. The fairways were pretty much non existent and in places looked like a farmers field. This is not typical - the course is usually very well presented and I assume that the very soggy underfoot conditions and slow draining soil did not allow for motorised mowing and cutting. As a result the round was even more of a battle than our very average good game expects and at £25 was poor value. However, huge credit must go to the greenkeepers who had the greens looking glorious considering the very wet weather. I am sure that the whole course will be splendid with more clement weather and that for the majority of the year will offer a good round and good value as it usually does.

Bad weather 2 holes closef

Weather conditions inflence this review. We had no advance notice 2 holes were closed and winter tees were universal. Course was very muddy and very wet in parts . Off fairway areas grass was long making it difficult to find balls
