Reviews
Engaging course and fine club house
First time playing NCGC. Stunning coastal views from clubhouse, first tee and practice area. Course lays out inward from coast but good variety of holes. Trees aplenty to punish errant tee shots, greens in fair condition. Enjoyed the round, will return, and vfm throguh golfnow.
Enjoyable and a fair test of golf
On the whole an enjoyable experience but the course is let down by holes 1,2,16.17 and 18. These holes are close to the clubhouse and it feels like you are playing a series of largely mundane holes in an adjacent field. Holes 3 through to 15 are far far superior.
Sunday afternoon knock
Played the course on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Lovely layout with some strong par 4s on the front nine. Recommend the course and would play again.
Mainly undulating parkland layout with variety.
On arrival at the course we were greeted by the gentleman in the pro shop. As it was our first time at the course, he kindly talked us through the layout and where/ where not to hit the ball. Sorry I didn’t catch his name but thank you, it really helped us.
The course was excellent and every hole layout was different. The course had several holes that had steep elevation changes so was physically challenging also.
The greens were very good, and I think the seagulls may have been partying in some of the bunkers by the look of the footprints.
Overall an excellent course and looking forward to returning.
A great first visit
This was our first visit to Scarborough Nth Cliff. The club pro was very friendly and gave us a clear explanation of the course layout and out of bounds to be mindful of. The course was in fantasric condition, holes 3 to 15 are the best with beautifully presented mature tree lined fairways. The greens ran true, looked great and were consistent over the 18 holes.
Last 3 holes are bland in comparison to the rest but do offer good sea views.
Staff in clubhouse were efficient and friendly and the club lounge has super view of the north beach and Scarborough Castle.
The Golfnow hot deal represented fantastic value.
In all a great first visit and will definately return again when next visiting the area.
Beautiful but rushed
Beautiful course with plenty of variety. However, we were playing at our usual pace and were pushed around the first 4 holes so let them play through and then spent the last 9 holes been pushed by the next group. We are NOT slow players.
The last few holes are a bit boring compared to the main course which is over the road but still nice to be facing the Yorkshire coast as we come in on the 18th
Excellent course greens are like lightening, a lot of different holes to challenge even the better golfers. Will definitely be going again
Excellent condition
This course is definitely the best I’ve played in this area, the course is in great condition, the greens are fast and true.
Would definitely recommend playing this course. Will be back very soon for another round!!
Good course to play
Despite being next to the sea , this is a Parkland course with the sea mainly visible from the first and eighteenth holes ….. but very definitely from the Clubhouse.
It was extremely windy and intermittently raining but still had a very enjoyable round.
Staff and Greenkeeper all very welcoming.
Made to play with strangers
I and 5 friends had booked booked to play a round with golf now and the pro made us play with two strangers to make up two four balls. The strangers although friendly, didn’t want to play with us either. We thought the pro was just being pedantic and after the first hole(and out of site of the pro) just split up as we both requested in the first place. We were playing Scarborough South Cliffs the next day in a two day comp.
Poor start we thought . The actual course is lovely though. Please think of players as real people and not just punters mr. Golf pro.
Lovely course
Great course in good condition. Some interesting holes although the last three were a bit disappointing. Shouldn’t take away from the first 16 holes. Friendly staff and a nice clubhouse.
Scarborough North Cliff
Stunning conditions due to playing off mats in February which protects it.
Bunkers were perfect as each was consistent not as though I went in many lol.
Green all true but deceptively hard to read.
£20 a round on Golf Now definitely value for money..
Lovelly surroundings and quiet.

Good course good value
had a good round of golf on a good course, late afternoon so it was quiet on the course so had no problems with pace of play, the fairways where good and the greens ran quite well, some good par 5's and tricky par 3's. not to bad on the legs for walking , the club only has a few buggies so best to book one if required.
the pro-shop (8am-2pm) was closed due to staffing as a new professional starts next week. not a problem though just had to pay for the round in the club house and the staff where very friendly and polite. always a pleasure to paly.
