Beautiful course

The course is excellent. It’s always in a good condition. I believe the greens have just be airated as a bit sandy but the ball still rolls true somehow! Great work.

I’ve played this course many times before, I never learn in the summer when it’s hot, it’s definitely a buggy course. Very hilly.

I was quite surprised that the club shop and bar only take card, I wanted to buy a round in the bar after our game and it was card only. I don’t think they should be writing off cash already is good for a golf course, a lot of the clientele, I believe, would wanna use cash still. The option should still be there.

Lovely course poor pace of play

The course is great, however it took 5 hours to get round which is really bad, because of a train of about 5 4 balls holding up play, maybe the tee times are to close together!?

Great Service, Great Course, Bad Score!

First. I booked my tee time for the wrong day and they accommodated my friend and I, no fuss. A* right there.

Second. Surrey National is a proper test of golf. It is long, the greens are sloping and there is rarely a flat lie on the fairways, so dont expect to bully the course.

Finally. Although it is struggling with the dry conditions (As are most courses without irrigation) the greens and tee boxes are pure.

Surrey Hills

The Surrey National needs to be played a few times to understand its nuances as there are so many different lies and approaches - few straight or flat fairways, but this made every shot interesting.

Whilst the wind played its part it was all about playing for the summer run and judging your approach as a few yards short and the ball often hits a downslope to rocket for the back of the green!

The greens had been dressed in the last month, but with little rain there was still some evidence . But it was pleasing to find grass under every ball when many courses have suffered.

This was a good test of golf and I was pleased not to be overly penalised for being a few yards off the fairway and greens - even the bunkers were is good condition.

We are keen to play again.

Good Course but Greens punched

Lovely course and lovely views. Nice and wide but was a bit hilly. Would play here again once the greens aren’t punched.

Ignore the 1 star review below this, he had a shocker!

Eternal V

If you want to play a course which is an eternal V with the ball at impossible lies then this is the course for you. Incredibly slow with 4 balls the standard.
