THE MANOR
Excellent in all respects. A challenging course with great layout. A very relaxing experience.
Slow play and layout
When I arrived the staff in the pro shop were very friendly and helpful when I told him it was my first time playing there.
The course layout was bit confusing at times but got used to it.
There was a couple in front of me who clearly weren’t that good or had just taken the sport up, they were slowing me down while I was in full flow and playing like I was a pro.
Eventually after 8 holes they let me play through and apologised for holding me up. I wasn’t too bothered because I do like to take my time however there was 3 ball behind me and they were hitting tee shots when I was still walking to my ball. I’d had enough and let them play through after giving them some lovely words about etiquette on the course.
After a few things setting me back I got back to playing my game, the course is full of hills and mounds however it’s a really nice course and I will definitely be going back.
There’s quite a few par 4’s that are driveable however you have to be accurate or you’re in trouble.
Well worth the money oh yeah the greens are very fast…
Great venue
I did really like the course. The layout is definitely good with some of the green complexes being superb.
Some of the holes are really stunning and the way they knit together is brilliant.
I would say that walking down the first... and especially the tenth is a little uneasy. The amount of range balls on the fairways makes you worried for your safety.
Saying that, all in all its a beautifully kept course that I would definitely play again.
Extremely slow pace of play, excellent course condition
I went out on my own, 3 ball infront of me and despite of having hit 3 bad tee shots 50-100 yards into the fairway on a par 4 on a few holes (we all make mistakes) never once offered to let me play through. When I came to the 7th tee (par 3 over water) they had finished their putts and even though they were able to tee off on the next hole, began to start collecting balls out of the water ( for a good 10 minutes) I played the 7th hole and had to miss the 8th and 9th hole due to them causing extremely slow play and continue on to the 10th, luckily had nobody in front of me and was able to play at a good pace. Overall conditions were excellent on the course despite having rainfall all night the previous night. Just be weary of people causing slow play as I’ve witnessed this more than once.
Lovely evening golf
I live close to the course but never had chance to play the full course so jumped at the opportunity to do so. The weather was really nice and the course was in great condition, especially given the very wet winter and early spring we have had.
The greens rolled really well and was a very good test. Some unique holes which offer a great challenge.
Will definitely be back for more rounds here
Disappointing Experience with Limited Play and Restrictive Policies
Many holes are unplayable even in April, making it not worth the fee. There are numerous restrictions, including a policy that the use of certain kinds of trolleys…
3 hours for 7 holes
What more is there to say , course was in lovely condition but a lot of slow play , 3 hours for seven holes is far too long!! We walked off at the 8th complete waste of time and money.
Signage for tees could be better, some tee boxes mot the best. But other than that nice pleasant course
Course was in excellent condition, 10th hole closed as they are re-developing it. I was aware of this from visiting the driving range previously, but it wouldn't be clear to anyone who was just turning up.
Greens were in very good condition giving the lack of rain recently
Enjoyed
Bit sloshy but that’s expected this time of year. Looking forward to coming back when the weathers been a bit better. Nice lay out some tricky holes. 2nd time playing this course.
Holes closed with no prior warning - rude staff
Despite the staff rudely suggesting I was at fault for not reading the small print on GolfNow, which apparently would “100% have confirmed that holes were shut”, this was in fact not the case. In addition, there was apparently a ‘spiked trolley only’ rule in place so I had to pay an additional £4 trolley rental fee - which again, was not advertised before playing. Good course that I do enjoy playing, but poor from the staff to make out it was my fault. Maybe check your course info is correct before you arrogantly make statements like that to your customers.
