Esplanade Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch

I come to the area every winter and plan various courses. This was my first time playing this course but it now at the top of my list.

First time playing here, thanks to a Hot Deal. Worth playing, even at full price. Friendly, efficient staff and impeccable course conditioning, as well as a pairing with another single and a lovely couple, made it a pleasure. Greens are lightning quick, but true, and some holes are hard to figure an effective route. Only concern was how spread out the course is, and the occasional lack of signage for direction. All made it back in, though!

My husband and I love this course. It is challenging, but fair. Staff is friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to play this course again

Course has very generous landing areas so driver is always in play. Greens are true and speed is good. The rest of course is in good shape although still a little young.

A very enjoyable course as a one time event or could be played every day. My only complaint is the long distances between holes. Obviously housing is the primary concern vs rate of play and walking would be impossible.

I enjoyed this course. The layout was very generous for wayward shots. The conditions were very good. Greens rolled nicely and were quick but not lightning fast. Very fair. The range is a body of water so that's a little different. Very good practice areas for chipping and putting. Back 9 tougher than the front. Got a GolfNow deal of $49.99 and it was well worth it.

Pro shop and snack shack were lukewarm friendly. Not rude but not welcoming either.

Definitely worth playing.

I loved the course, staff very helpful and friendly and practice range tremendous. My only complaint was the slowness of the play. I'm a de ent player but my partner is a scratch golfer so we do play fast but it was blocked up by three groups of foursomes in front of us. The first group was extremely slow and that's all it takes on a course. I think there should be a ranger on course and tell slow groups to pick up and move to next hole.

The food in the Tiki Bar was fantastic as was bartender

We left the course after nine holes. The course had just been over seeded and was golf path only which make it very difficult for our group who are all a little older and not great golfers to play. I feel GolfNow should have been aware of the condition and an alert when booking. Notwithstanding the issues the pro at the club advised there would be no issuing a rain check under the circumstances. The rain check though would have to come through GolfNow. We have been in touch with GolfNow and awaiting their call as they had to contact the course. We look forward to playing the course when it is not cart path only.

We love Esplanade GC because the course layout is very enjoyable and the conditions are consistently very good. The greens are some of the best, if not the best, of the public access courses in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. When you combine this with the rates charged, it's excellent value for your money. I would highly recommend this course if you're in the Sarasota/Bradenton area.

Course has room for the stray drive and greens that are huge and fun to putt, great combination. Conditions are on the good to great side. Very windy day 20 - 30 MPH gusts, felt like we were playing into the wind all day adding some difficulty. Great place to play. They have added a nice halfway house facility behind the practice area since the last time I've played there. Topnotch course.

Course was amazing. Facilities/range are first class (even though the range has floater balls). This course drains well and is usually pretty consistently dry and playable. This course is a bit pricey, look for those hot deals for true value.

This golf course is beautiful. The front 9 was serene. The back 9 not so because of the construction. The greens and fairways were like carpet. Nice wide fairways allowed use of the driver on almost every hole. A pleasure to play this course.

Practice facility was outstanding

A early Sat AM tee time popped up on Friday afternoon and with the Partners Card well worth it. Course was in great condition, greens were just about perfect and ran true. Eventhough the ranger was a bit pushy and subtly harassed us during the round and the starter wanted us to tee off about 10 minutes before our tee time it was another great day at Esplanade LWR. As always the guys upon arrival and departure and the counter guys were great as usual. See you guys again before the end of Oct and will be back for our partners card free round in November....

Great Condition, Wide Fairways

Played here many times and always top notch. Get there early to enjoys one of the best short game practice areas around. Course is pretty open of the tee but challenging because of the tightly mown areas around the greens and the water. Just aerated but could hardly tell putting. Go play and enjoy!

We were so impressed with this place. it was so much fun to play. not one complaint from us. it was challenging and fun to manage. greens were in exc condition and were a little slow but fine with us. fairways were a pleasure to hit from.

i will look forward to my next round there. its that kind of course i could play say every day and enjoy my game...even if it was not on.

Played the weekend after Hermine came by and dumped some water on the gulf coast. Drove down for Tampa to play somewhere new. Glad we did, was informed upon checking in that it was cart path only because of the rain, understandable. Expecting some soggy conditions I was delightfully surprised, course seemed to dry fairly well with only a few holes showing Hermines aftermath. We played as a threesome of mid-handicappers from the back tees. It was a good mix of longer holes and shorter ones, Plenty of water and sand in play but overall a fair design. At the end of the round we were greeted with a tiki bar with a good menu and cold beverages. Excited to head back down there when time allows. It should be considered as a must play if you are in the area.

Another great experience at Esplanade. From the time I drove up until the time we left the course it was absolutely fantastic. When you consider the amount of rain we have received over the past week courtesy of Hermine to only have have two holes (#5 and #6) cart path only is really nice. Course as always as in great condition, greens ran fast but very true. Had not been out with my regular Saturday group in well over a month going on 2 months was really great. Big party afterwards at the Tiki Bar so we did not stop for our complimentary refreshments. Staff totally professional and on top of everything. Using the Partners Card is the way to go. See you guys in a couple of weeks!!!!!
